The legendary "Robocon" robot series, created by Shotaro Ishinomori, creator of Masked Rider and Cyborg 009, and which ran through the Showa and Heisei eras, will be released in theaters for the first time in 20 years as "Ganbare Iwa! Robocon" will be released in theaters for the first time in 20 years. The film will be released nationwide, including in MX4D, this summer on July 31, 2020 (Friday).

Robocon" is a doughy robot with an egg-shaped, red-coated body and adorable eyes. Robocon" was first broadcast in 1975, it quickly became a hit with children, along with "Super Sentai" and "Masked Rider," both of which were created around the same time, and boasted the highest viewership rating of 29.2%.

Based on the manga by Shotaro Ishinomori, the "King of Manga" who created numerous characters such as "Masked Rider" and "Cyborg 009," the unprecedented "Robocon" boom that swept Hong Kong from 1999 to 2000 also swept Japan. In 1999-2000, the unprecedented "Robocon" boom in Hong Kong swept through Japan, and "Burnero! Robocon" was broadcast in Japan. The generation that had seen the previous "Ganbare! Robocon" became popular as a comedy robot show that could be enjoyed by both parents and children.

Director Ishida, under the name of "Hide I", directed "Burn! Robocon" under the name "Hide-I," and has also worked on many films in the "Heisei Masked Rider" series. Urasawa, on the other hand, is a scriptwriter who has worked on his masterpiece "Fushigi Comedy" series, as well as "Super Sentai" series and other tokusatsu works, and is familiar with "Oshitama Rantaro" and "Crayon Shin-chan" animated films for children.
