The first episode of the TV anime "New Sakura Taisen the Animation," scheduled to start airing on April 3, 2020, has been released with a synopsis and advance cuts.

The main character is Sakura Amamiya (voiced by Ayane Sakura), a member of the "Hanagumi" of the Teikoku Kagekidan. It depicts a new story of "New Sakura Wars" centering on Sakura Amamiya.
The film is directed by Manabu Ono, with series composition by Ono and Tatsuhiko Urahata, and animation production by Sanzigen Corporation, which also handles the opening image and animation movie parts for the game.
The opening song is the game's theme song, "Proclamation! Teikoku Kagekidan <New Chapter>" (lyrics by Oji Hiroi, music by Kohei Tanaka), which is also the game's theme song.
