An interview with Mamoru Miyano (actor of "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass 3 FIRST INSPECTOR") on "PSYCHO-PASS 3 FIRST INSPECTOR", which is "an endpoint" and "a work that makes you look forward to what lies ahead.

PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass 3 FIRST INSPECTOR" will be screened in theaters for two weeks starting Friday, March 27, 2020, and will be available exclusively in edited form on Amazon Prime Video.

The film, which picks up where the TV anime "PSYCHO-PASS: Psycho-Pass 3" left off, centers on the case of a "fox" being pursued by the Detective Section 1, the mystery of Bifrost, and the battle between Shaku and Jion, with the focus on the two surveillance officers Shindo Arata and Jion Mikhail Ignatov.

Akiba Research Institute interviewed Mamoru Miyano, who plays the role of Shizuka Homura, a key person on the Byfrost side. We asked him about the highlights of this work.

What is the purpose of the film, and what does he see beyond that?

What is your impression of the world of "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass,"which is set about 100 years in the future?

Miyano: I thought that the system might become more accurate by managing people, but I was also afraid that people would no longer be able to make decisions in this world.

PSYCHO-PASS is a science fiction story set in the future, but it is also a human story about a stoic detective. That is the exciting and interesting part of this work.

It also has a sense of entertainment that can only be achieved through animation. I think that synergy combined with the worldview makes it an enjoyable work.

─ ─ The character you are playing, Hokkarashiki Shizuka, is oneof the most mysterious characters in thethirdseason.

Miyano: As the actor, I had to know a lot about the character, so I asked Director Shiotani about his background, what his goals are, and what he sees beyond those goals, which are not depicted in the anime.

─ When I looked at the profile of Shizuhi Houbara on the official website, it says, "The only thing that heals me is my dog. I was very surprised to see that she actually has a human side. I thought she might actually have a human side to her (laughs).

Miyano: I wonder. I'm looking forward to seeing it (laughs).

─ ─Is there a scene in thethirdseason episodes that left a particularly strong impression on you?

Miyano: The scene with Jionion (CV: Yuichi Nakamura) in episode 8 was memorable because it was a scene where Shizuka took active action, although the direction of the objective was not shown at all.

Shizuhi had many scenes with the other two Congressmen, but they were more like characters whose purpose was more apparent, so I was thinking about how Shizuhi would move within that context as I performed.

───Whatare the highlights of"PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass 3 FIRST INSPECTOR"?

Miyano: In this work, we reach an end point in terms of "who has what ambitions and what they are trying to do. I am sure that the audience will be thrilled to see this point, and since it contains various essences that hint at "what comes next," it is a development in which a mystery leads to more mysteries.

There are also developments in the future for Shizuka that make me look forward to the future. I was surprised because I did not expect him to be in "that kind of position.

─ ─ Finally, do you have a message for your fans?

Miyano: "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass 3 FIRST INSPECTOR" is a wonderful creation that is the result of the combined efforts of the staff and cast, so please enjoy it to the fullest. The more you watch it, the deeper the mystery becomes, and we hope that you will continue to support us in the future, as we cannot help but have high expectations for its future development.
