To celebrate the release of "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX" on Nintendo Switch, the comedy duo Pekopa has released a video "Pekopa Becomes a Pokémon: The Movie" in which they perform a comic performance as a Pokémon.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX" is a remake of "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team" for the Nintendo DS and "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team" for the Game Boy Advance, both of which were released in 2005. One day, the main character is suddenly transported to a world where only Pokémon live, and he himself becomes a Pokémon. He learns from other Pokémon that various incidents are occurring in this world due to natural changes that have begun to occur. The hero forms a rescue team and sets out to help Pokémon in need and to find the cause of his Pokémon transformation.

In the video "Pekopa Becomes Pokémon Theater," released to commemorate the release of this title, two "Pekopas," dressed as Pikachu, Eevee, and other Pokémon, perform a comedy dubbing show set to the actual game screen.

Peko-Pa" is a comedy duo formed in 2008 by Shoinji Taiyu (right), a comedian, and Shupei (left), a comedian. They gained popularity with their "zenpatsu tsukkomi" (all-affirmative tskkomi), in which they do not deny anything, and won the 2019 "Gurunai Omoshiro-so" and made it to the final of the 2019 M-1 Grand Prix. They placed third.

During the recording of the video, Shoinji and Shupei reminisced about their childhood memories of playing "Pokémon Red and Green" and how it felt to play "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX," which they had experienced beforehand, and the shooting began in a relaxed atmosphere.

As filming began, Shupei's sleepy performance and Shoinji's intense movements, which changed with each take, had the staff laughing from the moment the cut was made. When Shupei struggled with his long lines, Shoinji followed up with the familiar line, "Let's turn back the clock," which drew applause and laughter from the staff, and the scene became very exciting.

Q. One of the attractions of the "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon" series is that you can talk with Pokémon as yourself. Which Pokémon would you like to talk with and what kind of conversation would you like to have?

A. Shoinji: I would like to ask Pikachu about the secret of surviving as a successful Pokémon for a long time.
Shupei: Pikachu is your senior, isn't he?

Q. If you were to enter the world of "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX," which Pokemon would you both like to be?

A.Shupei: I would be a Zenigame ...... Fushigidane ...... or Hitokage. After all, isn't the fire type cool? I want to not only light a fire, but also light a fire in people's hearts.

Shoinji: That's cool. ...... I'm running out of things to say (laughs). Then I'll go with one-liky! The reason is that my hair resembles the shape of Wanrikii's head (laughs).

Q. This film is set up as a "rescue team with a partner." What kind of partner is Shupei for you?

A.Shoinji: I don't know how to say it, after all, I can't do it alone. ......

Shupei: I see!

Mr. Shoinji: You haven't said it yet! ...... No, I can't say I haven't said it yet. It's possible that everything was conveyed in "I'm not alone ......". But after all, when I hit a wall that I can't overcome alone, Shupei is such a reassuring presence that I feel I can face it if I am with him.

Q. You two met at a part-time job at a tavern.

A.Shoinji: When I was having a hard time giving a good talk, I saw Shupei's "Shupei desu! for the first time, I thought, "What the heck is this ......? I thought he was just holding his face between his fingers (laughs). (laughs). But now it is helping me a lot, so I really can't thank it enough (laughs).

Shupei: For me, when I am asked to comment on something and I don't get a response, he turns it into a laugh with his affirmative comments, which really helps me out.

Q. In this game, you can receive "rescue requests (SOS)" from other Pokémon and go to their rescue.

A.Shupei: I've been so busy lately that I haven't been able to do anything at home, so I'd like someone to help me with laundry or something. ......

A.Shoinji: No, I'll go!

Q. What are your thoughts on playing "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX"?

A.Shupei: First of all, the game world is very cute! The shopkeepers in the "Pokémon Hiroba" were also Pokémon, and everything was so cute that I was excited to see which Pokémon I would meet next. And it's great that the game has an "auto-do*" function, so it's easy to move forward quickly.
Auto navigation = a function that allows the main characters to move efficiently by simply pressing the "L" button.

Q. Lastly, what were your impressions of the filming?

A.Shupei: "Tunnel, tunnel, ton tunnel~! three times in a row, somehow the staff members would laugh when I said the line, so it was even more fun than usual to shoot.

Shoinji: They laugh because Shupei says it (laughs). It wouldn't be funny if a normal person said it (laughs).
