Ten Sei Ranman! is set in America, where the 19th century has ended and the curtain is about to rise on the 20th century. The story is about a genius engineer "Sorano Tenharu" who has no social skills and a cowardly samurai "Isshiki Kozure" who drifted to America from Japan due to an accident, and the two penniless men participate in the "Transcontinental Race" in order to return to Japan.

＜Synopsis
Tenharu and Kozame are adrift on a steamboat built by Tenharu, and are rescued by a passing ship, arriving in Los Angeles, California, USA. They look for work to earn a living. Amaharu's attention was caught by a parade led by a flashy gasoline-powered car. He follows the parade and arrives at a racetrack. And then the two learn. If they win the "Trans-American Race" held by the B.I.G.BOSS, one of the three major automotive alliances, they will receive a prize of one million dollars, enough to fund their return to their home country. ...... That night, Tenharu and his friends sneak into the race track and meet Charlene, who is running the circuit in the dark.
