The "Ghost in the Shell" series was first published in 1989 by Masamune Shirow in "Young Magazine Kaizokuban" (Kodansha) and has since been developed in various media such as animation and Hollywood live-action movies.

The latest work, "Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045," is the first full 3DCG animation in the history of "Ghost in the Shell" and is double-directed by Kenji Kamiyama of the "SAC" series and Shinji Aramaki of "APPLESEED. Production I.G and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS are in charge of animation production.

In a world that has plunged into "Sustainable War," a planned and sustainable war, the reunited Public Security Section 9 is confronted by "Post-Humans," unidentified beings. They are unknown beings with astonishing intelligence and physical abilities, and seem to be directly or indirectly involved in mysterious incidents that overthrow society, but their purpose has yet to be revealed. After a fierce battle with the "post-humans," Motoko Kusanagi pulls them out of their arm suits and tries to block their movements with a cybernetic lock.
