Finally, Tomorrow Delivery! Megumi Hayashibara plays the post-human who holds the key to the story in the Netflix anime "Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045

New character information has been released for "Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045," which will be released exclusively on Netflix tomorrow, Thursday, April 23, 2020. One of the key post-humans in the story, Takashi Shimamura, will be played by Megumi Hayashibara.

The "Ghost in the Shell" series was first published in 1989 by Masamune Shirow in "Young Magazine Kaizokuban" (Kodansha), and has since been developed in various media, including animation and Hollywood live-action films.


The latest work, "Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045," is the first full 3DCG animation in the history of "Ghost in the Shell" and is double-directed by Kenji Kamiyama of the "SAC" series and Shinji Aramaki of "APPLESEED. Production I.G and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS are in charge of animation production. Season 1 (total of 12 episodes) will be distributed this time, and production of Season 2, a sequel, has already been decided.

The new character announced this time is Takashi Shimamura, one of the mysterious "post-humans" appearing in the film and a key character in the story. The character is voiced by Megumi Hayashibara, known for her role as Rei Ayanami in "Neon Genesis Evangelion.
