Players become a boy lost in the world of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, meeting generals such as Cao Cao and Lu Bu and experiencing famous battles that have left their mark on history. The main quest depicts battles over the mysterious book "The History of the Three Kingdoms," and there are also in-depth stories about the generals who appear in the game. The game also features the voices of the characters, voiced by a cast of splendid voice actors, including Jun Fukuyama and Inori Minase.

Battles are turn-based, and the attacks and skills of the characters are basically automatic. The "Combination Technique," which is triggered by combining specific generals, is not only powerful, but also has an animated and flashy presentation that is one of the game's most attractive features.
