In conjunction with the announcement, a special PV and a teaser visual were released.

WAVE! is a media mix project by MAGES. (LOVE&ART), creators of "B-PROJECT" and other otome-oriented contents. It is an original ensemble drama about the main character Masaki Yooka Masaki, played by Tomoaki Maeno, who meets a transfer student Sho Akizuki, played by Hitoshi Ogasawara, and becomes absorbed in surfing. The character design was created by Sara Chiyomi, who also created the game "Arcana Familia," etc. Since 2018, the series has been developed into a CD drama, character songs, radio, events, apps, and all other media.

The film version of the anime "WAVE! ~Surfing Yappe! ～The film version of the anime "WAVE!!!-Surfing Yappe!!!" features Masaki in school uniform standing on the beach with a surfboard in his hand in Oarai Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, where marine sports are popular.

In the special PV released at the same time, eight boys obsessed with the allure of surfing appear. The PV is filled with anticipation as to what kind of story will be told by these unique characters who bet everything they have on surfing.

The main staff was revealed in the PV. The director is Takaharu Ozaki ("Goblin Slayer," "Shoujo Saikatsu Ryoko"), the series composition is by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu ("Black Clover," "Tensei Tareta Slyme Datta Koto"), and the animation production is by Asahi Productions.
