Open audition to determine the artist who will sing the theme song for the animated film "DEEMO THE MOVIE", second round results announced!

Pony Canyon is currently holding the "DEEMO THE MOVIE Utahime Audition" to select an artist to sing the theme song (lyrics by Yuki Kajiura) for the animated film "DEEMO THE MOVIE" currently in production. The second preliminary round of the audition was held recently via web screening.

DEEMO THE MOVIE" is an animated film based on the smartphone music game application "DEEMO," which has been downloaded more than 23 million times worldwide.

DEEMO" is a music rhythm game for smartphones released in 2013. The game is based on the concept of piano and incorporates a wide range of music, from beautifully melodic classical music to rock numbers, jazz, electro, and more, with approximately 200 songs. was also released.

The "DEEMO THE MOVIE Songstress Audition: 2021 Songstress Project" aims to discover new talents with overwhelming singing ability who are suitable to sing the theme song of "DEEMO THE MOVIE," which is based on the world-famous music game "DEEMO. The audition will be held live on the web!

In determining the theme song artist for "DEEMO THE MOVIE," preparations were initially underway for an in-person audition. However, with no end in sight to the spread of the new coronavirus, the health and safety of the participants and judges was the first priority, and a live audition was held via Zoom, a web conferencing service.

The second round of auditions was held on May 3 and 4, with a total of 58 participants from Japan and around the world, including the U.S., Canada, and the Netherlands, taking part via Zoom.

The judges included Yuki Kajiura, who wrote the theme song, Yasutetsu Mori, music producer for the film, Azusa Matsuda, senior director of ANIME EXPO, and producers from Pony Canyon, etc. The following 14 people passed the second round of auditions, which was announced on May 12.
