Kadokawa Game's Latest Mystery, "Root Film," 2nd Trailer Now Available

Kadokawa Games has released the second trailer for "Root Film," the latest mystery title for PS4/Switch, scheduled for release on July 30, 2020.

Root Film" is an authentic mystery adventure game set in Shimane, Japan. It is a huge game that takes more than 15 hours to complete, which is unusual for an adventure game. The story follows two main characters, Yakumo and Riho, as they advance their own stories and unravel the past records, and is said to offer innovative CG expressions and visual tricks. The director and scenario writer is Ichizo Kono of "Clock Tower" and "Neko Samurai" fame, and the character design is by Taro Minohoshi of "Love Plus Series" and "Tokimeki Memorial ONLINE" fame.

The release date of this title was originally announced as April 23, 2020, but has been postponed to July 30, 2020.

In the second trailer released this time, the introduction of the beginning of the game is shown, and the main character Rintaro Yakumo and other characters switch one after another, connecting lines that express their personalities. The trailer also features the first public appearance of the characters other than those who appear in the "Root Film: The World's Fastest Play-by-Play" currently being distributed, and their lines are especially noteworthy. Also, toward the end of the trailer, there is a "MAX MODE" scene in which Yakumo pursues the culprit. The tense exchange between Yakumo and the criminal can be felt.
