The VTuber project started to commemorate the 20th anniversary of KADOKAWA's media mix project "Sister Princess" in 2019. In this project, the character "Karen" from the work will debut as a virtual YouTuber (VTuber) in September 2019. She is gaining popularity on a program that is distributed live every Monday at 20:00. This was followed by the debut of the second Sakuya in January 2020. Hanaho was set to debut as the third VTuber.
