Rare collaborative visuals of the anime "BNA BNA" and the movie "Promea" are revealed! Creator comments on both films also released!

Rare collaborative visuals of the TV anime "BNA BNA" on air and the anime film "Promea" have been released. In addition, a question-and-answer commentary in which director Yoh Yoshinari, director Hiroyuki Imaishi, and Kazuki Nakajima, who are involved in both works, answered questions from viewers, was also released together.

The TV anime "BNA BNA" is an original and completely new animation produced by TRIGGER, which has been broadcast on Fuji TV's "+Ultra" and other channels since April 8, 2020. The director is Yoh Yoshinari ("Little Witch Academia"), and the series composition and script are by Kazuki Nakajima.

The other, "Promea," was released on May 24, 2019, and is also a TRIGGER-produced anime film. It is the ultimate battle entertainment created by Hiroyuki Imaishi, director of the popular TV series "Gurren Lagann" (2007) and "Kill la Kill" (2013), and screenwriter Kazuki Nakajima, after six years of planning.

Both films are produced by Studio TRIGGER. The collaboration visuals were drawn by Shigeto Koyama, the character designer of the "Promea" movie.

From the TV anime "BNA BNA", Michiru Kagemori, a raccoon dog beastman, and Shiro Ohgami, a wolf beastman, stand with their backs to each other in the background of "Anima City," a special zone for beastmen where beastmen live, Garo Timos and Rio Fortier are depicted looking enviously at the two.

To commemorate the collaboration, Yoshinari, Imaishi, and Kazuki Nakajima, the directors of both films, answered viewers' questions in a question-and-answer session.

Some of the questions and answers (in Japanese only)
Question
From Director Yoshinari's point of view, what are the highlights of "Promea" in terms of animation, and from Director Imaishi's point of view, what are the highlights of "BNA BNA" in terms of animation? From Mr. Nakajima's point of view, what are your impressions of the animation aspects of both films?

・・・Answers
Director Yoshinari: The beauty of the "hand-drawn CG" style, which is the culmination of Mr. Imaishi and Sanzigen's team.

Director Imaishi: Good drawings. Good colors. They are grounded and proper. He has a style of drawing things as they are, without running away. He does not do anything strange.

Kazuki Nakajima: I would say that Yoshinari's animation is precise and Imaishi's is dynamic. As for "BNA BNA" this time, Mr. Imaishi is often in charge of the action scenes, and it was quite noticeable that the design of the storyboard changed drastically when it came to the Imaishi part, which was interesting.
