Steam] From princesses to monster girls! A little (?) Erotic PC Games Special Part 2

How are you doing, Akiba Research Institute readers? I am Nero Hyakkabe, a writer who buys too many games.

Recently, I've been hooked on "Gnosia" on the Switch. To put it simply, it's a wargame where you can play by yourself against an AI, but the character AI's personality and thinking habits have a very human touch to them. There are characters who are easily suspected even though they haven't said anything, and those who look suspicious no matter what they say. It is just the right amount of stimulation for me, a person who stays at home and is starved for communication with other people.

Steam] Kunoichi, Succubus, and Puzzles! A little bit (?) Erotic PC games feature

Prison Princess "

  • Maker:qureate
  • Release date: April 3, 2020
  • Price: 1,980 yen (as of May 10, 2020)

The so-called "escape games," in which players aim to escape from a closed space by collecting items and clues to solve a mystery, became a worldwide boom in the early 2000s, when they were first played on PC web browsers, and have now become a standard genre of adventure games. Since a large number of them have been released as PC games and smartphone applications, everyone has probably played some kind of game at least once.

So, this "Prison Princess" is an escape adventure game that takes place in a fantasy-like world.

(C) 2020 qureate

The story takes place on the continent of Meigard, where a demon king has been released from a seal and is now raging. The hero, the heroine, sets out on a journey to defeat the Demon King who has kidnapped the princesses of two major countries, "Aria Lara" and "Zanzi Tsard," but unfortunately, she meets with an accident along the way and loses her life. The story of this work is that the hero, who is left with only his soul, leads the princesses of the two countries trapped in the Demon King's castle to escape.

At first glance, it may seem like a typical fantasy story, but the main character is not a human but a soul, which is quite original and interesting.

This title is developed by the same developer of "NinNinDays" and "Torabudeizu" that I introduced in the previous "Echi Game Special," and in my opinion, the cuteness of the girls and the quality of the graphics are second to none. The heroines of this title are two princesses, Princess Zena, a tsundere princess with high pride, and Princess Aria, a fluffy princess with a bit of a natural disposition.

The game uses a point-and-click style, and is a very orthodox escape game.

However, as mentioned above, the main character is a soul, so he/she only gives instructions to the princess to "examine this place," and it is the princess who actually examines the place. Therefore, during the game, the illustration of the princess approaching the object that the player clicks on and examining it will be displayed on the screen each time. This is one of the original features of this work that is not likely to be found in conventional escape games. Escape games tend to have a screen full of room scenes that are not very interesting due to the nature of the game, but in this game, the princess appears on the screen, creating a fun and colorful atmosphere.

Incidentally, the princess is so absorbed in her exploration that "echi-thumbs" often occur, in which the contents of her skirt and cleavage are fully visible. This dilemma is that you need to look carefully at every corner of the screen in order to escape, but the princesses make it difficult for you to look at them! Well, well, this is an unavoidable dilemma, so I'm going to look at ...... carefully!

The " echi-y thumbing" of this work is not limited to this. During the exploration, there are times when a time limit is imposed, and it is no exaggeration to say that this is the main dish of this work.

The player must hurry to click on the traps in order to solve the mystery within the time limit. But then, the princess is in front of you, in all her glory! If the player tries to touch the princess instead of the trick, her flabby body will sway and she will blush, making cute noises.

Therefore, as a gentleman, you should never touch the princess, but concentrate on the trick and solve the riddle. ......

There is no time to do so when there is a time limit to begin with. ......

Well, if you say your hand slipped, it might not be a problem. ......

By the way, be careful not to let your hand slip too often or it will affect the likability of the princess!

This is a moderately challenging escape game with cute characters and slightly erotic elements. You will not be able to stop searching, not only to collect clues to solve the puzzles, but also to enjoy the princess's dialogues and reactions. We hope that not only puzzle solvers and puzzle fans, but also those who are impressed by the visuals of the princesses will give this game a try.

2. "Doki-Doki! A game of undressing full of beautiful girls!

3D dungeon RPG "Sakura Dungeon

  • Maker:Winged Cloud
  • Release date: June 4, 2016
  • Price: 1,980 yen (as of May 10, 2020)

Dungeons are an essential element of RPGs. Originally the word means "dungeon," but in games it is commonly used to mean "labyrinth. Having dived into so many dungeons in so many different games, you could say that dungeons are now like a local thing for gamers!

So, "Sakura Dungeon," which I am about to introduce to you, is another RPG with a dungeon as its main focus. Please note that this title is not available in Japanese at the time of writing!

(C) 2016 Winged Cloud

The storyline is "Yomi, a fox demon who is the ruler of a dungeon, wakes up from a deep sleep to find that her dungeon has been taken over by someone, and she and Ceri, a female knight who has come to defeat her, aim to conquer the dungeon.

Incidentally, Yomi, Ceri, the townspeople, and the monsters that appear in the dungeon are all beautiful girls. And, although I dare not say which ones, they are all very pretty in general. This is what makes this a slightly erotic game feature, isn't it?

The game is an orthodox 3D dungeon RPG, as seen in games such as "Wizardry," with a good old-fashioned game feel: moving one square at a time, mapping the area you have conquered, and using random encounters with monsters. However, it is not old-fashioned or difficult to play, and it is very easy to play with convenient features such as auto-run, which automatically advances in a straight line, and auto-battle, which automates battles.

The most notable feature of this work is the battle system. There is no such thing as a normal attack in this title, and AP points are always consumed in order to attack. This resource management of AP makes the battles in this title strategic and interesting.

Furthermore, and this is another major feature of the battle, enemies can be captured and made into friends. Capturing an enemy after reducing its HP to just short of zero is fun in a Pokémon-like way.

So far, I have introduced the RPG elements of this game.
So, I'm sorry to keep you waiting. Now I would like to introduce the " echi-nasty-something" element of this work!
To put it simply, when both enemies and allies take heavy damage, their clothes will tear. That's all. Oh, what an easy-to-understand yet heart-pounding system. ......

While the game is a solid 3D dungeon RPG, it is spiced up nicely by the moe elements of the bishojo characters, which are reminiscent of novels and late-night anime. It is also nice to know that the characters' costumes can be changed and that all of the monster girls have a slightly erotic event CG!
As mentioned above, the game is not available in Japanese at this time, so please be careful if you are thinking of purchasing it.

3. "New Currents!
Color-matching puzzle "Yokogatari" with lustrous yokai girls

  • Maker:Double W, Toffee Cafe
  • Release date: February 6, 2020
  • Price: 200 yen (as of May 10, 2020)

In the current Japanese moe culture scene, where weapons, castles, warlords, and many other things have been made into bishojo, you could say that making yokai into bishojo is a major trend and even a staple within the bishojo industry.

This is why this title, "Youkai Story," is a puzzle game in which these classic bishounen-ized yokai make an appearance.

(C) 2020 Double W

The setting of this game is the "Land of Harmony," which has a Japanese atmosphere.

The player must compete with the Yokai girls in a puzzle game to restore color to the "Land of Wa," which has lost its color. The rule of the puzzle is to create "color gradation" by moving and arranging the colored blocks on the screen by drag & drop.

It is a little difficult to explain in words, so let me show you some pictures of the screen.

For example, here is a problem like this.

The gray or ochre-colored blocks at the top are placed at the bottom to create a gradient.

Gradation. I have heard the word often, but when I try to explain what it is, it is very difficult because I am not an expert in color and design. ...... So, I will borrow the wisdom of Wikipedia.

The gradient is a continuous change of color relative to its position in a drawing."

...... I see, I don't understand it. However, even such an author could solve the puzzle sensibly. The correct answer looks like this.

How do you like it? I think you can see the gradation of colors from light to dark, but there are 70 puzzles in total.

To be honest, for someone like me who is not so familiar with this kind of genre, it is quite difficult. However, the passion for " echi-na-something " makes the impossible possible, and each time you clear a stage consisting of five questions, you will be able to see the youkai girls with their clothes ripped off! Here's a little bit of a naughty game experience for you. Characters tend to tear their clothes!

By the way, this blonde girl is called "Kanedama. She is a so-called "money spirit," but isn't this an unfamiliar monster?

This work is also characterized by the selection of yokai that are quite maniacal, such as "Ungaikyo" and "Kurage no Hinotama. When I first saw the "Atakemaru," I thought, "Why is there suddenly a ship ......? But when I looked it up, I found that it was a large warship built by Tokugawa Iemitsu, but it was also treated as a monster that "roared at night crying 'Let's go to Izu, let's go to Izu' and started moving on its own on a stormy night". No, the developer who chose this one, he knew well about such things. ......

As for the puzzle of creating gradations, the interesting point is that although it seemed difficult at first, as you try it, you get a better and better sense of it, and you can feel your progress. The author certainly felt something awakening in me in the end. Thanks to this, I was able to achieve 100 percent completion of all stages, earning the stars that are awarded for clearing the time limit set for each stage. I wonder if the skills I developed in this game can be applied to coloring tests or something like that. ......?

Now, this game has a free R18 downloadable content from the official website. If you download this, you will be able to release a function called "friendbook" and love the beautiful appearance of the youkai girls. ...... If you are interested, please check it out for yourself. Of course, no one under the age of 18 is allowed! Let's shudder and wait for their 18th birthday!

Steam's "Echi-Something" never ends!

So, we have introduced three recommended titles.

Following on from our previous feature, we hope that you have been able to experience the possibilities of echi-chi games on Steam again this time around. There are still more games full of "echi-something" that we would like to introduce, so please stay tuned for the third installment of this feature, which is sure to come again sometime in the future. And finally, a word from the author. Let's enjoy echigo-y games in a healthy way, while observing moderation!
