Action RPG "DARK SOULS" series sold more than 27 million units in total.

FromSoftware announced that the cumulative sales of the action RPG "DARK SOULS III" exceeded 10 million units. The company also announced that the cumulative sales of the "DARK SOULS" series (the total of package shipments and download sales) have surpassed 27 million units.

The "DARK SOULS" series is an action RPG series that allows players to enjoy the fundamental fun inherent in RPGs, such as the tension of dungeon exploration and the fear of encountering enemies. A joint project between FromSoftware and Namco Bandai Entertainment, the series has been highly acclaimed around the world for its game design that leads to a high sense of achievement, an online system that loosely connects players with others, and a unique worldview.

DARK SOULS" (PlayStation 3) was released on September 22, 2011; "DARK SOULS II" (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Steam) on March 13, 2014; "DARK SOULS III" (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam) were released on March 24, 2016.

In addition, a new action RPG "ELDEN RING" is in development as the next joint project between FromSoftware and Namco Bandai Entertainment. The platforms are PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and the release date is undecided.
