The original TV anime "Akudama Drive," scheduled to air from July 2020, will be comicalized. It will be distributed exclusively through "Renta Comics," a comic label of the e-book rental site "Renta!

Akudama Drive" is an original TV animation produced by studio Piero. The director is Tomohisa Taguchi ("Persona 4 the Golden", "Digimon Adventure LAST EVOLUTION Kizuna", etc.), the original story is by Kazutake Odaka ("Danganronpa", etc.), and the original character designs are by Rui Komatsuzaki ("Danganronpa", etc.).

The comic book version of this work will be drawn by Rokuro Ohkaki, who has worked on the spin-off anime "THE UNLIMITED Hyobu Kyosuke," a spin-off of "Absolutely Lovely Children," as well as the comic book version of "Sword Dance the Movie. Here is a comment from Mr. Ohkaki.

I am Rokuro Ohkaki, and I have the honor of being in charge of the comic book adaptation of Akudama Drive. I'm very excited to be working on the comic book version of Akudama Drive. You never know what they will do in the next moment. At the same time, they are amazing people who have the power to live as they please.
They are all so badass, and they are all so cool. I am going to draw this work as if I am a "manga artist," and I am going to have a lot of fun while running wild and burning up in a good sense of the word.
I hope you enjoy both the anime and the manga.
