So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! The 16th issue has started!
Part 17: The Great Exhauser
The first model in Kotobukiya's "Great Exhauser Series," which had been highly anticipated since its announcement, has finally gone on sale!
The name of the figure is the "Great Exhauser " from "Exhauser the Brave"!
The Great Exhauser is featured on the large package!
The runner is very colorful. The runner is very colorful, and thanks to this colorfulness, it can be color-coded perfectly without stickers or painting! The only painted part is the face.
The instruction manual is basic and easy to read. Let's start assembling it all at once!
Super giant combined!
Great!
EXKAIZER!
So I assembled it according to the instructions. It took about 2 hours and 20 minutes! Aside from the great style, I would like to strongly emphasize that this coloring was reproduced entirely by dividing the parts! There is no painting, no stickers, and this is the result!
The yellow nose of the Dragon Jet and the white lines on the wings are not stickers, as I have said many times! They are parted parts!
A little S-stroke stand. This body balance is both powerful and smart. It is exquisite!
It's a wonder that the figure doesn't look too much like a toy of the time, even if it is made to stand in a way that respects the toys of the time.
The modeling of the head. The angle of the horns and the shape of the mask are both very satisfactory. Clear parts are also used effectively.
Looking at the shoulders from above, you can see that the parts of King Ex-Xhauser seem to fit inside the parts of Dragon Kaiser.
The lion on the chest is the symbol of EXHAUST KAIZER. This important part also has an unquestionable finish.
The lion's eyes are clear parts.
The balance from the waist to the hips is also perfect. The front armor is also color-coded by dividing the parts. The crystal in the center is a clear part!
The shoulder armor could have been a bit on the large side, but from the angle of the surface to the shape of the cannon, it is absolutely just right!
The surface of the arms is not simply flat, but has a subtly rounded surface configuration.
The legs, too, could have been a monotonous "box" design, but the seamless arrangement of parts, the excellent color separation of the parts, and the treatment of the corners (C-face) make it as dense as the amount of information in the upper body.
Back. Various items were grouped together in the back of toys of the time, but this time they are neatly organized, partly because it is a non-changeable kit.
The back and inside of the legs are designed without any structure, so the finish is simple. This is reminiscent of the Great Exhauser's design.
The holes for the stands used in the poses at the beginning of this article are located on the underside of the lower back. By using this hole, it is possible to pose the figure with various commercially available stands!
Parts other than the main body are as shown. The following parts are not included in the figure: a lion's chest with different angles, various wrists, dragon archery, Kaiser Sword (King Ex-Xkaiser), Kaiser Sword (Great Ex-Xkaiser), and Kaiser Sword (with purses). The Kaiser Sword with Purse also comes with an extension part for the handle.
The Kaiser Sword (King Ex-Kaiser) and Dragon Archery are included in the kit, which is very artistic.
First, let's take a look at the movable parts.
The head is very excellent, as it can be moved up and down by the neck parts. The head can rotate, look up, look down, and tilt to the left or right.
The shoulders also have an unimaginable range of motion given their shape. The shoulder connection is on an axis, so of course it can rotate 360° (in some cases, it is necessary to avoid the vertical bevel), and the outer blue armor is movable, taking advantage of the shoulder armor's dual structure. In the frontal image above, the right shoulder is fully down and the left shoulder is fully up.
The shoulder can be swung back and forth by means of a pull-out joint. You can also interchange the parts of the vertical girdle when moving the shoulders forward.
Torso. Can be pulled out at the base of the chest and abdomen, and can be flexed back and forth. Can also be twisted.
Shoulder cannons can be pulled out a little and can be moved thanks to ball joints.
The arms have a roll axis at the base of the upper arm and shoulder, as well as a rotational axis at the base of the elbow and forearm, so the elbow's movable angle changes depending on the forearm's orientation.
In addition! There is a movable part in the split between the blue and white parts of the forearm! This allows you to perform with more power in the arms!
Hip joints. The legs can be moved forward about 90 degrees by lifting up the front armor, sideways about as much as a normal human being can move sideways, and can be rolled at the bottom of the hip joints and the lower part of the knee joints.
Backward, it can move about the same range of motion as a normal human being.
The knees are also double-jointed and have a sufficient range of motion for posing.
This is one of the ingenious points of this kit. In the anime, the white and blue parts of the figure were drawn at a large angle, and to recreate this image, movable points are provided for the shins! Thanks to this, the ground contact is improved!
Speaking of ground contact, the ankle is also important, and as you can see, it can be moved forward and backward.
The lateral movement is also quite deep.
The lion's mouth on the chest can be slightly opened and closed.
The wings on the back are also movable, and can swing back and forth slightly, and there is also a rotating axis on the connection part that allows you to flip it up, so you can recreate the scene just before the nose of the Dragon Kaiser merges with the nose of the Dragon Kaiser.
Now, let's take advantage of this mobility to pose the figure in a few different ways!
Great Flame!
The fist parts and forearms are movable for a strong and powerful pose!
Kaiser!
Sword!
Easy to use flat hand!
King Ex-Kaiser's Kaiser Sword comes down and ......
Grip the Dragon Archery and overlap the two ......
Transformed into the Great Kaiser Sword! (This is the Kaiser Sword with Purse)
This sword looks cool no matter how you have him hold it!
In fact, the chest piece has been replaced and the two lower pieces are not attached, but you wouldn't notice unless you were told so, would you?
I won't let Geister do what he wants!"
Great Kaiser Sword with no purse attached
The Kaiser Sword of King Ex-Kaiser can also be held.
You can also use a flat hand for this kind of stance.
Of course, you can also reproduce the two swords with Dragon Archery!
The Great Exhauser is also equipped with firearms. Both shoulder cannons are movable, and the missile hatches on the knees can be opened and closed.
Next, I tried to ink the figure!
First, the front view. The kit is not arranged with any complicated details added, so I think the Great Exhauser looks even closer to the image in the anime by inking.
Since there are no panel lines, it does not take much time to ink the kit. This time, I mainly used Pigma's 0.05mm.
Since the head has intricate parts, I disassembled it and inked it. The detail of the lion on the chest is clear and nice!
I inked the horizontal lines on the shins, the base of the dragon jet wings, and the bumps on the knees. Here, too, the lines of each part are clearly defined!
On the back, the inside of the nose and back thrusters of the Kaiser jet have been painted black.
Two more poses with the inked Great Exhauser!
Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"
Now, this is just an extra introduction, but to our surprise, this series can also be combined with the Cross Frame Girl "Brave Girl!
Since this is an extra item, the Brave Girl itself was assembled quickly, but in its normal state, a beautiful, healthy and beautiful girl like this is completed.
From here, remove the white parts of the hands, legs and chest, and attach the parts for combining, and attach the Great EXHIBITOR parts. Here it is ↓.
Ta-da! The Great Exhauser Girl is complete!
The slender body has been fitted with some massive parts, and I love the way the body is so well balanced!
The legs also have a sense of stability, thanks to the combination of the slim thighs and the rather large mechanical parts.
Looking from the back, the back unit looks like a ribbon around the waist! Cute!
Punch!
Kaiser Sword!
That's enough! Geister!
Size comparison between Great Ex-Kaiser and Brave Girl. They are about the same height at the top of the head!
What did you think? Kotobukiya's Great Exhauser.
It's like a dream come true to be able to get a movable model of this quality as a plastic kit. In the past, there were many toys and other three-dimensional items from that era, but I don't think there has ever been an item that combines this sharpness, styling, and excellent mobility.
Of course, this may be in part due to the fact that the transformation and combination of parts has been eliminated, but even so, the fact that the color scheme can be reproduced so well just by color-coding the parts is an amazing degree of perfection for a plastic kit!
If you are a fan of "EXHAUSTICER" and want to build something different from the realistic character kits, this is the kit for you! Please try this kit!
Also, if you paint the entire runner gold, you may be able to assemble a golden Great EXHAUSTIZER. If you are skilled, please try your hand at building a golden Great EXHIBITOR!
See you next time!
