Additional character and cast information for "MARS RED," which is set to be adapted into an anime in 2021, has been released.

MARS RED" is based on a musical reading of the same title written, scripted, and directed by playwright Fumio Fujisawa, with main visuals by popular manga artist Karanoke. Set in the Taisho era (1912-1926), it depicts the battle between the Japanese government's anti-vampire agency, the "16th Special Mission Unit," a.k.a. Zero Agency, and vampires.

The TV anime adaptation will be directed by Kohei Hatano, with series composition and script by Junichi Fujisaki, character drafts by Karanoke, and animation production by SIGNAL.MD.

The additional characters and cast announced this time are as follows

Aoi Shirase (CV: Tomiko Orikasa): A childhood friend of Kurisu , one of the strongest vampires in Japan. She is a newspaper reporter for a small newspaper company, Nitto Shinbun. She is chasing a case of human combustion in Tokyo, suspecting a connection with vampires.

Nakajima Munenosuke (CV: Hiroshi Ienaka): A lieutenant general in the army who comes from a samurai family in Saga Prefecture. He is the guardian of Colonel Yoshinobu Maeda, the strongest mankind has ever known, and is a powerful man with ties to the government.

▲Misaki (CV: Ayaka Takagaki): Leading actress in "Salome" at the Imperial Theatre. She is captured as a vampire at the Tsukishima base of the 16th Special Forces Squad.

Shinnosuke Tenmanya (CV: Sachi Kunitate) is the owner of the mysterious "Tenmanya," a house of prostitution. His true identity is that of a store that "specializes in vampires. He is an ally of the vampires, dealing in "food" and "family registers" for vampires.

Rufus Glen (CV: Shin Furukawa): A mysterious Englishman hired by the Japanese government to carry out a project. He also has a strong connection with vampires.
