To commemorate the 60th anniversary of its founding and the 30th anniversary of the release of the "Game Gear" portable game console with color LCD, SEGA CORPORATION will release the "Game Gear Mikro" on October 6, 2020 (Tuesday), exclusively on its EC site.

The "Game Gear Mikro" is a micro-sized device measuring approximately 80mm (W) x 43mm (H) x 20mm (D), less than 40% of the size of the original Game Gear.

Each of the four color variations (black, blue, yellow, and red) contains four classic games of the time in various genres such as action, puzzle, and RPG, which can be played on a 1-inch monitor with various buttons.
The Game Gear also has an "abort save" function, so you may be able to see the ending of that game that you couldn't complete at the time.
The Game Gear could only run for two to three hours on six AA batteries, but the "Game Gear Mikro" can run on two AAA batteries, and a USB cable can be used for longer play time (AAA batteries and USB cable sold separately).

The staff of the "Mega Drive Mini," the mini-game console that kicked off the 2025 era, has reunited for the production of this project. The software portion of the project continues to be handled by M2 Inc. You can expect a high level of reproduction and perfection.
