Voice actress Nana Mizuki has released a playlist "Nana Mizuki Select! 7 MUSIC CLIP Challenges" on Official YouTube.

This list follows "Nana Mizuki Select! Live Challenge" which was released last month, Mizuki herself selected MUSIC CLIPs which were filmed in response to some challenges.

The following clips were released to the public: "Aoi Iro," in which Mizuki took on the challenge of shooting a single cut; "Orchestral Fantasia," in which she shot "Orchestral Fantasia" with her body stuck in strings for a long time; "Cosmic Love," in which she tried to fuse images and photos into a parapara manga-like video; and "Positive Love," a 6-hour-long video clip of "Positive Love," which was shot with the fans after the event. POP MASTER" shot with fans after the six-hour event; "Synchrogazer" in which Mizuki took on the role of an android to match the digital world of the song; "Absolute Happiness" in which all movements, including the scene where Mizuki bursts into tears from emotion, were shot ad lib in a single cut from a fixed point; and and "NEVER SURRENDER," which was shot in the limited time before dawn while being drenched by torrential rain.

Mizuki herself also commented on the episodes during the shooting of each music clip. Check it out along with the video.

■Aoiiro

This was the first time I tried my hand at one-cut filming.

We had to move around the school building we rented extensively, from the hallways to the classrooms, from the stairs to the rooftop, while performing the movements, dances, and plays that were decided in detail for each phrase of the song!

I'm so glad we were able to get a successful take while the sky was blue (laughs).

Orchestral Fantasia

This is the work that was shot in a state of immobility for the longest time (laughs).

The scene in which the main lip-sync is tied with strings cannot be released once it is set (because it will not be connected to other scenes), so we had to lie on the cold stone and keep tied up for a long time. The scene is not released once it is set (because it is not connected to the other scenes).

It was a really hard shoot because we had to stay hydrated, we couldn't keep warm in the extremely cold basement, and we couldn't even go to the bathroom (laugh).

COSMIC LOVE

This work was a challenge to create a parapara-manga-like image by fusing video and photography.

The film was shot in all six outfits, with lip-sync video and photos taken at slightly different angles of movement, like a frame-by-frame movie. We took more than 5,000 pictures!

The editing process was also incredibly difficult, and a lot of time and effort was put into this CLIP!

POP MASTE

This work was shot after a 6-hour long "Sugoroku" (Japanese folklore game) competition, which was an unprecedented challenge for all the members under the most extreme conditions (laugh).

At a fan club event held at the Budokan, we had a mini live and everyone participated in a Sugoroku (Japanese card game) competition before shooting the MUSIC CLIP. It took 6 hours to settle the game.

We had been going nonstop without a break, so everyone had wounds all over their bodies.

We are very grateful to all the fans who, in spite of such a situation, stayed with us for many takes with the greatest of excitement!

By the way, our special guest, Tomokazu Sugita, is also firmly in the picture (laughs).

Synchrogazer

This is the work that was filmed in the most androgynous way (laughs).

The theme song, Senki Zesshou Symphogear, and the digital worldview of the song led us to film the theme of an android whose soul is awakened by music.

In the scenes before emotions are born, blinking was prohibited in order to maintain an inorganic facial expression!

For Mizuki, who has extremely dry eyes, this was the most painful setting (laugh).

The costumes created to match this worldview were also extremely hot, as most of the parts were made of vinyl chloride, which is not breathable!

It was really hard to make it look cool in contrast (laughs).

Absolute Happiness

Like Aoiiro, this is also a one-cut film, but the major difference is that the camera does not move at all, the same angle of view and location, and the movements are completely ad-libbed.

In order to express a space where I was alone with my beloved, after setting up the camera and lighting, the crew moved far away and left everything to me.

That's why I felt nervous, but when I entered the world of the song, I naturally burst into tears... I feel that this music clip was the closest to the real thing I could do.

NEVER SURRENDER

The keywords "night" and "heavy rain" appear in the lyrics of the chorus of the song, so we shot all the scenes from sunset to dawn and challenged ourselves to shoot in the heavy rain.

Team Mizuki usually takes nearly 20 hours to shoot a music clip, but it was rare for them to shoot only at night, and the set and lighting changes were as furious as a live TV station!

We had to shoot close-up scenes at dawn, when we were the sleepiest, and singing scenes in the rain, so it was a real test of strength! (Laughs)
