Watch out for the original robot from China! The possibilities for play are endless, and we built the "Ixclair! Taiyuki's Weekend Plastic Modeling Vol. 18

When you are a working adult, you tend to have a lot of plastic models piled up in your busy life. ...... In this series, Yasuyuki Tai, a voice actor who loves robots and plastic models, takes on the challenge of building plastic models on your behalf!

The concept is "even busy working people can make it this far on their weekends off. There are only two rules: bare bones assembly and a production period of one to two days! If you read this series, you will surely find the plastic model you want to build.

So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! Part 18 begins!

Part 18: Ixclair

The kit introduced this time is not from an anime or video game, but is the manufacturer's original robot kit "KM-036Ixclair!

The product is manufactured by Chinese model maker Tachibana Neko Kogyo, and WAVE is in charge of distribution in Japan. The price is a special price of 2,000 yen (tax not included) for the first production run, and 2,600 yen (tax not included) for the regular version after the next production run. Clear red and clear orange parts and a colorless runner of the same type have been added as a first-time bonus.

The design is by Mr. Amatoki, who is active at One Festival and other events. Although there is a real life-size design, the plastic kit was first released in a deformed body shape.

The package is freshly colored. The words "First Edition" are stamped in foil!

On the back side, there is an image of the completed kit and a note.

Although the kit can be assembled without using adhesives, the back of the package recommends the use of adhesives for plastic models, so please have them ready if possible.

The completed image and settings are also written on the side of the package.

Runners are blue, gray, white, and 3 colors of clear parts + colorless transparent parts as a bonus. It is very colorful!

In addition to the "Operating Instructions" and assembly instructions, "Notes on Assembly" is included. When assembling, please refer to these instructions.

Many of the blue parts are under-gated, so gate marks will not be noticeable after assembly. So, let's start with the bare assembly!

It will take a little over an hour. The white and blue coloring is cool.
The clear parts for the head and left arm weapon "gauntlet shield" are available in three colors: red, orange, and the first bonus color, transparent. The colorless transparent parts in particular can be used as is, but you may also paint them with your favorite clear color.

The backpack and waist side armor are very huge and dynamic due to its deformed appearance.

The silhouette from the side is also very lordly.

The head is skillfully partitioned so that the gate marks are not noticeable, and the sharp and distinctive face is well reproduced.

The head is connected with ball joints, allowing the chin to be slightly raised and the head to be turned to the left or right,

It is possible to turn it to the left or right.

The head ornament is also sharply sculpted.

The body appears to be very intricately armored and folded, but assembly is very straightforward.

At the waist connection, the figure can be rotated about 90° to the left or right.

The hip parts can also be rotated, which contributes to posing. A commercially available stand can also be connected to the center hole.

The backpack is also designed with a combination of thruster units and plate-like parts to create a combination of volume and sharpness.

The backpack can also be rotated since the left and right blocks are connected to the center block with an axial connection.

The shoulder armor also looks like a complex structure, but the parts are well-divided, making assembly easy. A little detailed painting is required to reproduce the forearms as set.

The shoulders are ball-jointed to the body and can rotate and swing back and forth as well as up and down.

Elbow joints can be bent 90 degrees.

The waist side armor is also a thruster unit. It is large enough to cover about half of the legs.

When the side armor is removed, the legs are exposed. The design of the legs also looks like a combination of plate-like parts.

Although the figure is deformed, the legs can be raised to this level by lifting up the front waist armor.

The knees can be bent about 45 degrees. The ankles are connected with ball joints, so they move surprisingly well and have good ground contact.

Next, the armament. The shooting weapon is a high-end rifle. The muzzle of the rifle is large, indicating its high power.

The other armament is the gauntlet shield. You can choose to attach a blade-shaped part or a rotating saw-shaped part. It comes in a variety of colors.

Connect to the back side of the shield.

When each part is attached, it looks like this. It is a combined offensive and defensive armament.

Attachment parts are used to connect to the arms.

The saber parts also come in three colors, one with a tapered tip and two stick-shaped types, each in three different colors.

Now that we have introduced all of the included weapons, let's pose them!

First up is the basic high-end rifle!
There you go!"

Although there is no flat hand, the figure is posed as if it were double-handed!

"I ain't gonna miss you!"

Then the saber!

Is it coming?

Snap!

Yeah!

It's a different shape, but it's the same color and can be used in two ways.

"I'll go for the other way! X-shaped slash!

Fixed gauntlet shield (blade) on the arm

"Sweet! It's not just a shield!

Haaaaah!

Spash!

Slash!

And laser cutter!

That's the one for hard armor!

Cut through it!

Gyu-een!

The flying pose is also done by using a commercially available stand!

Normally, I would have tried inking here, but this time I tried color changing! The color separation by parts is excellent, so you can easily paint each runner to create your original color!

Only three colors were used this time: gunmetal for the gray parts, gold for the white parts, and black for the blue parts! Combine different colors to create your own Ixclair!

This is a design drawing displayed at the event. We are told that variations of the machine are planned to be developed, so you may want to take a look at these for reference.

Perhaps it is a part to support variation development, but instead of a backpack, joint parts like the ones shown in the photo can be attached. It is also possible to create your own original equipment!

And, I digress a bit, but here is the Ixclair assembled with the entire runner painted!

What do you think? I think the result is an elegant finish that is both noble and dark!

A close-up of the head. The atmosphere created by the change of main color is different.

Comparison with the original Ixclair. We could call it a black version. How about commercializing it in a limited event color? Mr. Tachibana Neko Kogyo!

You are a fool to stand before me."

Tilt shot of a high-end rifle in Black Ixclair.

'You should be aware of my power.

The flying pose is also somewhat divine...

What speed!

"Hmph, you caught it well."

A fateful showdown! Just kidding!

How was it? Tachibana Neko Kogyo's "Ixclair.

Although some parts may be easier to assemble with some modifications as described in the "Notes on Assembly," the price is very reasonable for a kit from an overseas manufacturer, even if it is not the first edition, and I highly recommend this kit to robot enthusiasts.

We are told that there are plans to release variations of this kit, and we are really looking forward to seeing what kind of aircraft will be available in the future.

We hope to introduce the variations of this kit again when they are released!

See you soon!
