The Mega Drive version of "Herzog Zwei" is back as "SEGA AGES Herzog Zwei" for Switch! Detailed game information released!

SEGA has released detailed information on the upcoming Nintendo Switch title "SEGA AGES Herzog Zwei".

SEGA AGES Herzog Zwei" is a Nintendo Switch title that adds an online battle element to "Herzog Zwei," which first appeared on the Mega Drive in 1989. The price is 999 yen (including tax).

Herzog Zwei," the original "real-time strategy" (real-time simulation game) masterpiece by Techno Soft, known for its "Thunder Force" series, will make its long-awaited return on the Switch.

Players build AI weapons at their own bases while controlling a fighter that can transform into a mobile infantryman. The player will compete with the enemy for relay bases scattered throughout an area, and aim to take down the enemy's stronghold.

While defending infantry and your own bases, you can also attack the enemy with tanks and motorcycles, and sometimes go to the front lines to fight.

SEGA AGES Herzog Zwei" Modes

Please refer to the following for an overview of each mode in "SEGA AGES Herzog Zwei".

Outline of "Original Mode
The "Original Mode" is the main mode that recreates the Mega Drive version. Players can choose between one-player mode, in which they play against the computer, or two-player mode, in which they play with a friend.

The game starts from a base facing away from the top and bottom. While producing weapons at the base, players occupy relay bases and expand their territory through repeated transports and battles. The player who reduces the durability of the enemy base to zero first wins the game.

In addition, players can choose to play as either the revolutionary army or the government army, and can select from eight maps and four difficulty levels.

In addition, the SEGA AGES version adds an information screen to the left and right sides of the screen. It automatically displays information about the current base, your ship, and detailed information about the weapons and commands you have selected, depending on the situation. In addition, "helper" mode can be turned on to change "base endurance," "own aircraft endurance," and "weapon development budget.

Outline of "Network Battle
In the "Network Battle" mode, players are randomly matched with other players over the network and can play against each other. Helper mode cannot be used in network matches.

Practice Mode
Practice Mode is a tutorial mode original to the SEGA AGES version. It allows users to learn the rules of this unique game in detail, item by item.

Other elements unique to the SEGA AGES version include the ability to save and replay replays, as well as the automatic saving of passwords. The game screen can be changed to a "vintage" CRT-style screen or a "dot-by-dot" screen.
