Square Enix's Action RPG "Subarashiki-kono Sekai" to be adapted into an anime! 7/4(Sat.) 10:00, information will be released at the same time around the world in a special program!

An anime adaptation of the Square Enix-produced action RPG "The World Ends With You" has been announced.

The World Ends With You" was released for the Nintendo DS in 2007, followed by an iOS/Android version in 2012, and a Nintendo Switch version in 2018. The game boasts strong popularity not only in Japan, but also in the United States, Europe, and other countries. The game was produced by the staff of the popular "Kingdom Hearts" series, with creative producer and character designer Tetsuya Nomura of Square Enix, known for the "Final Fantasy" series as well as the same series.


Late last month, it was announced that Anime Expo 2020, one of the largest anime conventions in North America, would be canceled on-site due to a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and would be held as "Anime Expo Lite" with online distribution. At that time, a new visual of "The World Ends With You" was unveiled as the key art for "Anime Expo Lite," which became a hot topic among fans around the world.


Detailed information about the anime adaptation will be announced at a special program to be held at Anime Expo Lite on July 4, 2020 (Saturday) at 10:00 a.m. (Japan time), with a "simultaneous worldwide information release" scheduled to take place.
