Musical "Toukendanbu" to be performed in Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Kyoto from September 2020, main visual and performance information revealed!

On June 30, 2020, the main visual and performance information for the musical "Bakumatsu Tenrouden," which will be staged in Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Kyoto starting in September 2020, was released.

The musical "Touken Ranbu" is based on the popular PC browser and smartphone application game "Touken Ranbu-ONLINE-" (DMM GAMES/Nitroplus), in which famous swords take on the form of warriors, or "sword men", who are collected, trained, and strengthened to fight to protect history from enemies who plan to alter it. (DMM GAMES/Nitroplus), a musical series that has been continuing since 2015 as a pioneer in the media mix. The official abbreviation is "Toumu".
The first part of the musical is a historical drama in which swordsmen fight fiercely on the battlefields of history, while the second part is a completely different story in which swordsmen in their original costumes perform a glittering live show. The unique structure of this production has been loved by many audiences.

The 2020 version of "Bakumatsu Tenrouden" is the second in the series, which premiered in 2016, and tells the story of swordsmen associated with the Shinsengumi, with Hachisuga Toratetsu as their captain.

Today, June 30, 2020, the main visual, character page, performance schedule, and ticket information on the official website were released, and the cast and staff information was updated.

In the turbulent last days of the Tokugawa shogunate, Kashu Kiyomitsu, Yamatomori Yasusada, Izumimori Kanesada, Horikawa Kunihiro, and Nagasone Toratetsu, who were once with the Shinsengumi, have feelings for their former masters. This work, which delicately depicts the swordsmen struggling between what they want to protect and what they should protect, will be performed in an even more elaborate new production for the 2020 version.

The live performance has been renewed and refined, and we hope you will look forward to the performance of "Bakumatsu Tenrouden".
