Live-action movie "Watashi ga motte desu da" to be released in theaters nationwide on July 10 (Fri.); illustrations by author Junko & rave comments arrive.

The live-action movie "Watashi ga motete desu da" will be released in theaters nationwide on July 10, 2020 (Fri), and Junko-san, the author of the original manga, has commented on her impressions of the movie.

The manga "Watashi ga motte desu da" is serialized in "Bessatsu Friend" (Kodansha) by Junko-san. It depicts the sudden "period of popularity" that comes to the main character, Serinuma Kayori, a rotten girl who has lost a lot of weight due to the shock of the death of her favorite anime character. The original work has sold over 3 million copies and was adapted into an anime in 2016, and a live-action movie is scheduled to open in theaters nationwide on July 10, 2020.

The original author, Jyunko-san, has commented on her appreciation of the movie, and an illustration of the movie poster visual, specially drawn by Jyunko-san, has also been released.

Jyunko-san, who saw the movie ahead of the July 10 (Fri.) release, said, "Thank you so much for showing me a beautiful picture as you said in the movie, 'Ojisama no Neighborhood ni Ojisama'! That's how I feel. I thought it was interesting to see the characters through the eyes of the director and performers, seeing a different side of them from the manga. I wanted the comedy to be lively and fun, so I was happy that you were able to capture that.
I hope that the characters in the movie "Shisumote," which is different from the manga and has a new charm brought out by the performers, will bring a smile to your face! I hope you enjoy the fun and, above all, the beauty!" I hope you enjoy the fun and, above all, the beauty of the film!

In addition, an illustration of the movie poster visual, newly drawn by Jyunko, was also unveiled.
The four handsome cast members, Kitato Yoshino as Yuma Rokumi, a subculture-oriented senior, Fusyu Kamio as Yusuke Igarashi, a sports-oriented classmate, Asahi Ito as Nozomi Nanashima, a flirtatious classmate, and Sou Okuno as Hayato Shinomiya, a tsundere-oriented junior, are all made into sparkling princes just like those in the original comics.
Nodoka Yamaguchi and Mochio Tomita, who played the dual roles of the heroine, Kayori Serinuma, are also depicted with the same humorous expressions as in the movie poster.

To commemorate the film's release, a present campaign will also be held for theater-goers, which can be entered with the film's ticket stub.
The campaign will feature a variety of super-treasured items that can only be obtained from the movie, such as a "mote-mote message video that only you can receive" by four handsome cast members (Kitato Yoshino, Kaetju Kamio, Asahi Ito, and Sou Okuno), a poster with their autographs, and an original eco-bag. We hope you will visit the movie theaters and participate in the stub ticket campaign.
