Anime writer's picks of the 5 notable anime for the summer of 2020! Anime Column

Introducing some of the new TV anime titles that will start in the summer of 2020! Dokyuu Kenshutai Exesuros" serialized in "JUMP SQ.", "Doradora Shapu#"'s romantic comedy "Uzaki-chan ga Playita! the best-selling science fiction novel "Sinking of Japan 2020", Studio NUT's original title "Decadence", and the original anime "GREAT PRETENDER" featuring a con artist.

Dokyuu formation Exesuros

This is an animated hero action film in which a group of heroes, the "Exeros," protect the earth against the mysterious "Kisei Mushi" monsters that suck out "H(e)energy," the source of eroticism. The Kisei Mushi are bad guys who plan to annihilate the human race with a roundabout scheme to steal Eros from the people and cause the birthrate to decline. To confront them, Exelos fights by amplifying H-energy, but at the cost of tearing his clothes when he exerts himself to the utmost. The highlight of the film will be the extent to which the extreme battles can be expressed.
The main character, Retsuto Flame Castle, a.k.a. Exe-Red, will be played by Sadashijo Matsuoka, who has starred in numerous other titles. In the special voice PV distributed prior to the broadcast, his slightly sexy whispering voice makes the audience melt in love with him. The narration is by Rikiya Koyama. His voice has a mysterious persuasive power, and we can expect great things from the male voice actors.



Uzaki-chan wants to play!

A coming-of-age love comedy about a university student, Sakurai Shinichi, who wants to enjoy campus life alone, and a junior student, Uzaki Hana, who is always making fun of him. Uzaki-chan, with her characteristic "~ss" tone, is an ambivalent heroine who is both cute and annoying. She is cute and annoying at the same time as she interferes with all of her senpai's fun activities, such as going to the movies by herself and going to the batting center by herself.
The first PV clip of her iconic "SUGOI DEKAI" T-shirt logo moving in all directions will make you feel even more irritated and horny. The voice actors continue from the voice comic version, and the third PV shows them talking to each other and exchanging lines in perfect harmony.



Sinking of Japan 2020

The second Netflix original anime directed by Masaaki Yuasa is based on the best-selling science fiction novel "Sinking of Japan" by Sakyo Komatsu. 1973's live-action film version was more of a national disaster movie where the Japanese government was forced to deal with a natural disaster, but this film takes place in the present day and shows an unprecedented disaster from the perspective of a family of four. In this PV, we can see the mountainous visual appearance of Decadence. How will the overwhelming sense of scale be expressed?
The story follows Natsume, a young girl who dreams of becoming a warrior who fights against Gadol, as she meets Cabragi, an armored repairman of Decadence. Directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa of "Mob Psycho 100" series and "Detective Conan: Zero no Jugyojin," the PV includes aerial battles, and as in previous works, the action is sure to be spectacular.



GREAT PRETENDER

In this original anime, the main character, Masato Edamura, who calls himself Japan's number one genius swindler, meets the mysterious Frenchman Laurent Thierry and commits credit fraud against crooks around the world to make large sums of money. As if guided by the colorful background art, the setting changes each episode from Los Angeles to Singapore to London, and the languages spoken in the film vary from Japanese, English, French, and Spanish. The rapidly changing situations create a worldview that no one can believe.
In addition to the breathtaking main story that will leave you wondering when you will be fooled, the OP with its many hints and the ED with Freddie Mercury's famous song are also not to be missed. The script is written by Ryota Furusawa, who has worked on TV dramas and movies such as "Legal High" and "Confidence Man JP. This is his first attempt at a TV anime, and he has teamed up with WIT STUDIO, which has worked on "Shinketsu no Kyojin" and "Kabaneri of the Iron Castle.
