The developer of "VALORANT" is RIAT Games, famous for the development and operation of "League of Legends," which has remained popular since its release in 2009, with official leagues and championship series regularly held in various regions around the world. The League of Legends has remained popular since its release in 2009, and official leagues and championship series are regularly held in various regions around the world. It is also famous for its high prize money, which has exceeded 2 million dollars in some tournaments, making it, as the name suggests, "the game of legends.

In Japan, RAGE held the "RAGE VALORANT JAPAN INVITATIONAL" on June 20 and 21. Sixteen teams participated in the tournament, battling it out over two days for the 500,000 yen prize money. Famous professional gamer teams are recruiting "valorant" members one after another, and it is definitely one of the games that one cannot take one's eyes off.

Quote from the official page MEDIA

The game is basically free to play, and its content is a tactical FPS with a total of 10 players (5 vs. 5), each of whom fights using the abilities (special powers) and guns set for each character. The attacker wins when he wipes out all defenders or detonates a spike. The defender wins if he wipes out the attacker or prevents the spike from detonating. Attackers and defenders switch between the first half and the second half of the game.

This is the strongest agent that can be used from the beginning!

Each "Agent," the character used by the player, has its own abilities (special abilities), including "Duelist," which is good at attacking, "Sentinel," which is good at defending, "Initiator," which supports allies during battle, and "Controller," which strategically leads the team. The agents are free to use from the start.

There are two types of agents: free agents, available from the start, and locked, paid agents. The latter can be opened up to two agents for free by accumulating experience while playing.

The five free agents available from the beginning are Sage, Brimstone, Jet, Phoenix, and Sova. Of these, Sage and Brimstone are currently the strongest class (subject to change in future updates) and are recommended for beginners.

Sage.

A sentinel-type agent with recovery abilities and the ability to revive his companions. Available abilities include "Barrier Orb," which generates a thick wall, "Slow Orb," which creates a delay field to slow down enemies who step on it, "Healing Orb," which recovers HP for you and your allies, and "Resurrection," which revives your friends.

Brimstone.

A controller-type agent that uses a tactical map to support his friends with remote attacks. Available abilities include "Stim Beacon," which grants Rapid Fire to nearby allies; "Incendiary," which can use an incendiary grenade launcher; "Sky Smoke," which drops smoke from the sky; and "Orbital Strike," which drops laser attacks over a wide area for a limited time.

Billing System and Battle Pass

As mentioned above, "VALORANT" is free for basic play, but there is also an optional billing component. However, the only thing that can only be obtained through billing are some skins available in the store and on the Battle Pass. Rest assured that this will not affect the power balance of the game.

The Battle Pass can be purchased for about ¥1,000 and gives you weapon skins, accessories for your weapons, and banner cards for your profile. By the way, you can get some of the rewards by collecting experience even if the game is still free.

Game Modes and Maps

There are currently four game modes implemented: "Unrated," in which the team that wins 13 rounds first wins; "Spike Rush," in which the team that wins 4 rounds first wins; "Competitive," a ranked match that was just implemented on June 25; and "Custom Game," used for competitions.

Ranked matches are locked, but will be released after 20 rounds of unrated play and can be challenged. There are a total of eight ranks, classified from the bottom as Iron 1-3, Bronze 1-3, Silver 1-3, Gold 1-3, Platinum 1-3, Diamond 1-3, Immortal 1-3, and the highest rank, Radiant.

There are a total of four maps: Bind, Haven, Ascent, and Split. Basically, there are two attack points (A/B), but only Haven has three (A/B/C).

Furthermore, the areas in the MAP have detailed names, making it easy to coordinate and communicate when playing with friends.

I actually tried playing.

First, create a riat account from the official page and download the game. The name in the game can be changed in 30-day cycles, so you can feel free to give it a name!

After downloading and launching the game, you will start at the shooting range. At the shooting range, you will be given a brief tutorial. Here you should re-set the keys for basic operations (running, crouching, jumping, etc.) and adjust the mouse sensitivity.

In addition, "valorant" allows you to change the design and colors of the site! By default, there is no center dot, but you can add a center dot from the settings.

Now that the tutorial is over, let's get started. Since I am still locked in ranked matches, I will play in unrated mode this time. The map was "Haven". When you play a match, you can choose a character. This time I will play with my favorite character, Cypher.

In unrated, you can buy more guns and armor with the score points you have at the beginning of each round. If you keep losing, you will not be able to accumulate score points, so you should always keep enough points (1000 points) for armor! By the way, you can save money by defeating enemies and picking up weapons.

For me, Vandal (rifle), Odin (heavy), and Judge (shotgun) were easy to use. The Vandal can be used as an all-rounder from close range to long range, and the Odin is very useful for taking down enemies at medium & close range. The Judge was strongest indoors and in narrow alleys, as it could take them down with 1 or 2 shots at close range.

Conversely, submachine guns and rifles other than the Vandal were difficult to manage ammunition and often lost shots when reloading. Furthermore, the sniper, although one shot is more powerful, is more difficult because the reload is uncommonly long, giving the impression that it is a weapon for advanced players.

After a match, you can always view data from past matches from the "Career" section of the main menu.

It is very fun to look at the data, which includes round-by-round results, individual results, weapons, parts hit and number of times, damage inflicted, average money spent, and other details. This is a great game for practicing FPS because you can see trends in your play that you may not have noticed before.

A great game for FPS debut!

I have played as many FPS games as anyone else, but this game has by far the most e-sports-specific features of all of them. On top of that, basic play is free. I think there is no harm in downloading it anyway, regardless of whether you play or not.

Also, since play skills can be converted into data and analyzed, this game can be recommended for those who have never played FPS before or those who are not good at it, so please give it a try.
