(Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroyuki Tsuneishi; hereinafter "Sprix") have established a new company, Edutainment-Lab Corporation (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Shuhei Uzawa; hereinafter "Edutainment-Lab"), specializing in the Edutainment (Education x Entertainment) domain. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroyuki Tsuneishi; hereafter, SPRIX) have established a new company, Edutainment-Lab Corporation (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Shuhei Uzawa; hereafter, Edutainment-Lab), which specializes in the Edutainment (Education x Entertainment) domain.
Background and Overview
As a subsidiary of Brave group, D1-Lab is mainly engaged in CG production, motion capture studio operation, and system development. It has also developed "ME Campus," an online learning platform for learning with a unique support system, and "FAVii," a service that allows fans to enjoy guessing games, and is in charge of numerous projects in system development and CG production, mainly in the XR and interactive domains.
SPRYX is a comprehensive education company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange that develops tutoring schools and educational content.
In addition to operating Morijuku, Japan's largest private tutoring school in terms of average number of students per classroom, and Shonan Seminar, a preparatory school that has produced many students who have been accepted by top schools, the company has also developed and published several learning content materials with top market shares. In recent years, the company has also focused on overseas expansion, providing educational content, including the TOFAS international basic academic skills test, to more than 50 countries around the world.
As D1-Lab and Sprix collaborated on the "ME Campus" business, which opened in April 2023, Sprix, D1-Lab, and Brave group repeatedly discussed the potential of the education business from a medium- to long-term perspective, deepening mutual understanding and trust, leading to the establishment of this new company. The new company has been established as a result of mutual understanding and trust between the three companies.
Going forward, the new company will promote various businesses in the education x entertainment domain, including the ME Campus business and an educational content business utilizing VTubers.
