GIGABYTE's GV-N970IXOC-4GD, a GeForce GTX 970 with specifications that exceed reference even on a short board!

GIGABYTE has released the GV-N970IXOC-4GD, a GeForce GTX 970 video card that fits perfectly on Mini-ITX motherboards.

The GV-N970IXOC-4GD is the shortest GeForce GTX 970 video card on the market today at 17 cm in length.

The overall length of GeForce GTX 970 video cards with triple fans can exceed 30 cm. Even dual-fan models have a board length of around 25 cm, with the relatively short ELSA GeForce GTX 970 S.A.C 4GB (length 205 mm) and ZOTAC ZTGTX97-4GD501/ZT-90101-10P (length 204 mm) also slightly over 20 cm. over the 20cm mark.

The new model has a board length of 17cm, which is 3cm shorter than the previous model, and its most attractive feature is that it can easily fit into a cube-type Mini-ITX case.

What is of interest is the cooling system, which is equipped with an original cooler consisting of one 90mm cooling fan of actual size, two 8mm-diameter heat pipes + one 6mm-diameter heat pipe, and two slot-occupying aluminum fins. In particular, the cooling fan uses the same slit blade fins used in the company's top-of-the-line WINDFORCE 3X 600W video card. Cooling performance is said to have been improved by approximately 20% from 76 to 62 degrees Celsius, compared to the reference.

In addition, the core clock is slightly increased to 1076MHz base / 1216MHz boost (rated at 1050MHz / 1178MHz) while the board length is reduced. The auxiliary power supply has one 8-pin terminal (standard: 2 x 6-pin).

Main specifications include 4GB of GDDR5 memory and a memory data rate of 7Gbps (equivalent to 7010MHz clock). Monitor output terminals are DisplayPort x 3, HDMI x 1, DVI-I x 1, and DVI-D x 1 (supports 4K output for up to 4 screens). The main unit is a 2-slot occupancy type.
