Taiwanese mazesoba restaurant "Menya Haruka" to open in Akihabara on December 9! Sister restaurant of Menya Hanabi (Nagoya), the birthplace of Taiwanese mazesoba

Found on Chuo Dori.

Taiwanese mazesoba restaurant Menya Haruka is expected to open on December 9.

The location is the former site of ramen/sukemen "Menya Bando " (December 2013-November 3, 2014).

Taiwanese mazesoba, a recent fad among ramen geeks, is an arranged version of the Nagoya specialty "Taiwanese ramen," which originated at "Chinese Taiwanese Cuisine Ajisen" in Nagoya. It features mazesoba (oyu-soba) topped with spicy minced meat, egg yolk, green onion, chives, dried laver, fish powder, garlic, and other toppings, and finished with a small bowl of rice called "oi-meshi" (rice topping).

The new "Menya Haruka" is a sister restaurant of " Menya Hanabi " in Nagoya, which is said to be the originator of Taiwanese mazesoba, and is expected to attract attention from ramen otaku. However, it is operated by Content Co., Ltd. like "Meibutsu Stamina Don Showa Shokudo", "Musashino Nigiri Udon Iroha", "Aburasoba Tokyo Aburagumi Sohonten", "Menya Bando", and others.

Incidentally, Menya Hanabi was founded in 2008 and made its Tokyo debut in July 2014 with its Shinjuku branch. Also in the Asakusabashi area, " Menya Mazeharu " opened at the end of August 2014, following in the footsteps of "Menya Hanabi," and is proving popular.
