Space Battleship Yamato 2199: Ark of the Stars" and Ayaka Hirahara for the ED music! As well as Akira Miyagawa in charge of music, a "generational change" from her father.
The animated film "Space Battleship Yamato 2199: Ark of the Stars" will be released on December 6, and Ayaka Hirahara has been chosen to sing the ending theme.
Space Battleship Yamato 2199: The Ark of the Stars", which will be released on December 6 as a completely new work of "Space Battleship Yamato 2199", which was produced by a new staff based on the first TV series in 2012 and recorded a huge hit, and "Space Battleship Yamato 2199: The Ark of the Stars", a special compilation film looking back at the already released chapters 1 to 7 from a new perspective, which will be shown in theaters on October 11. Space Battleship Yamato 2199: The Voyage of Recollection" will be screened in theaters on October 11. In addition to the festive mood created by the consecutive releases of the film, production of a Hollywood live-action film version of "STAR BLAZERS" (tentative title) is also in full swing, aiming for a release in 2017 or 2018.
Details of the ending theme have now been revealed. First of all, the music will be composed by Akira Miyagawa, the eldest son of the late Yasushi Miyagawa, who succeeded the late Yasushi Miyagawa, who was in charge of music for the old series, to produce the ED music for the first time. The title of the song is "Great Harmony ~for yamato2199," and the lyricist, Yumi Yoshimoto, says, "I thought it was important to express the spirit of the ancient Japanese people called Yamato, who lived in harmony and shared their lives with others. I decided to write "Yamato" and choose "Great Harmony" to represent the spirit of the ancient Japanese "Yamato," when people lived in harmony and shared their lives with others. I decided on "Great Harmony," which is written as "Yamato" and represents the importance of connecting with this great harmony. It was also discovered that Ayaka Hirahara was a featured vocalist. Like the Miyagawas, Hirahara's father, saxophonist Makoto Hirahara, was a core member of the "Meisho Miyagawa Gumi" led by the late Yasushi Miyagawa, so the Hirahara father and son also share the same "generational shift" in the content of the work.
The ED song, "Great Harmony ~for yamato2199" by Akira Miyagawa and Ayaka Hirahara, will be distributed on December 3, along with the opening song "Space Battleship Yamato 2199," in which Taro Hakase plays the violin.
Ayaka Hirahara comment
I was very happy when I heard about the project. I have been going to performances by the "Meisho Miyagawa Gumi," where my father (Makoto Hirahara) is a master musician, many times since I was a child. Therefore, the music of Mr. Miyagawa (Yasushi Miyagawa) is imprinted on me along with his delightful stories. So "Yamato" was always performed there. Akira-san has also been a great help to me since before I made my debut. I was very grateful for the opportunity to sing for him, because it would not have been possible without a connection. But at the same time, I heard from the staff that it might not be possible because of the lack of time, but I begged them hard, "I will sing even if I don't have time! I begged them so hard (laughs). I really wanted to do it no matter what. When I received the lyrics, I thought about who and what I was singing for, and the earthquake came to mind. There were so many people who were hurt and lost and still wanted to return to their hometowns, and I felt that I wanted to sing to those people. When I heard the song for the first time, I wondered how wide the range of the sound was and whether I would be able to sing it, but during the recording process, I came to believe that Akira had chosen this range to express his desire not to give up, even if it was painful. It has become a song that I want to keep singing. I would like people who are suffering to listen to this song and I would like to sing it with my life so that my children can pass it on to the next generation.
Akira Miyagawa comment
I felt that the time had finally come. I had a lot of luck with "2199" this time, and Iaccepted the project becauseit looked like I wouldn't have to be in charge of the theme song. However, the time had finally come for me to write it (laughs). My father had written many ending themes and insert songs, but it seemed like a lot of work. It was the first time I cried during a recording session for one of my songs. I cry enough when I write my own songs. This time, the song was written with Ayaka Hirahara's singing in mind, and I repeatedly played catch-up with Mr. Yoshimoto (who wrote the lyrics) over and over again on the lyrical content of the song. Tinkering in that way usually doesn't result in a great song, but I felt there was something more to this song. And finally, the block of singers just clicked, and I was moved. I think maybe it was because I got to the other side of this song.
