2015 Winter Anime "Star Wars Rebels" Announces Story, Characters, and Other Details!　Set 5 years before "Episode 4: A New Hope"

Details on the storyline and other aspects of the "Star Wars Rebels" animated television series, which will begin in January 2015, have been announced.

Star Wars Rebels" is the first completely original "Star Wars" film since Lucasfilm became part of the Disney Corporation. Lucasfilm Animation will produce the new film, which depicts the period between Episodes III and IV of the "Star Wars" films, a period that was never depicted in the films. The film will be produced by Lucasfilm Animation, with Simon Kinberg ("X-Men," "Mr. & Mrs. Smith") serving as executive producer, Dave Filoni ("Star Wars: The Clone Wars"), Greg Weissman ("The Speculative Spider-Man"), and other distinguished members. The film is a unique and exciting project with a worldview, storyline, and key characters.

Details of the world, storyline, and major characters have now been revealed. The film is set five years before "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope," on the eve of the formation of the Rebel Alliance, in which Luke Skywalker and his team will later become active. At a time when the Galactic Empire, led by Darth Vader and his stormtroopers, was ruling through fear, Jedi survivor Keinan Jarrus (CV: Hirotsugu Shirakuma) was leading a team of resistance fighters against the Empire with his beloved aircraft, the Ghost. Then, on the remote planet Rozal, Keinan meets Ezra Bridger (CV: Kenji Nojima), a boy with strong Force powers, and decides to take him as his apprentice. The highlights of the film will be whether Ezra will be the "new hope" and whether the rebels, including Keinan and Ezra, can become a force against the Galactic Empire.

New characters other than those mentioned above include Sabine Wren (CV: Asami Tano), Hera Syndulla (CV: Yori Miyajima), Galazeb "Zeb" Olerios (CV: Minoru Inaba), aka C1-10P, aka Chopper, who fights alongside Ezra and Keinan as rebels, and Imperial In the military, powerful enemies such as Jedi hunter interrogators (CV: Shunsuke Sakino) and Agent Karas (CV: Soufumi Maruyama). Familiar characters such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, R2-D2, C-3PO, the Wookiees and stormtroopers will also appear.
