6TB HDD for video surveillance from WesternDigital!　WD60PURX" released

WD60PURX, a 6TB capacity HDD for video surveillance systems, is now available from WesternDigital.

The WD60PURX is a SATA 6Gbps 3.5-inch HDD designed for 24/7 operation and is part of the WD Purple Series, the largest capacity model in the series for surveillance systems with up to 32 cameras in up to eight HDD configurations. The WD Purple series is the largest capacity model in the series.

The main specifications are: SATA 6Gbps interface, IntelliPower RPM, 64MB cache capacity, 175MB/sec sustain transfer rate, and MTBF of 1 million hours. Average power consumption is 5.3W during read/write, 4.9W during idle, and 0.4W during standby/sleep.

The WD Purple series also features WD's proprietary AllFrame Technology and IntelliSeek Technology, which enable stable recording of video streams during continuous operation.
