Space Battleship Yamato 2199: The Voyage of Recollection" will be screened in theaters on October 11. In addition to the festive mood created by the consecutive releases of the film, production of a Hollywood live-action film version of "STAR BLAZERS" (tentative title) has begun in earnest, aiming for release in 2017 or 2018, and other developments have been raging.

The first day of the opening ceremony, held on December 16, was attended by three female actors: Houko Kuwashima, who plays the role of Moriyuki; Eriko Nakamura, who plays Mikage Kiryu; and Aya Uchida, who plays Yuria Misaki. They talked about their thoughts on the film and the male characters they are interested in. At the end of the speech, they opened a sake barrel with the Yamato girls to celebrate the "voyage" and to pray for future success of the film. The audience also cheered "Yososho, yososho! Good luck! Yoshiosho! and the audience joined in with the opening of the sake barrels, creating a great atmosphere of excitement. Here are some comments from the audience

Noriko Kuwashima
I finally received an offer to give a stage greeting this time. I didn't get any offers from chapter 1 to chapter 7 (laugh), so I'm relieved to have been invited. (laughs) It's a girls' club! The theme of Yamato is "inheritance," and I saw that the Yamato crew has grown since the last time, and from Moriyuki's point of view, I thought that Ancient-kun has become better looking. In the TV series, I played two roles...the director asked me to play two roles...I was so busy just playing Moriyuki that he asked me to play "Yurisha too" (laugh). I am very happy to be here today for the first day of the show. Just like the TV series, I felt as if I was on the Yamato while recording. Space Battleship Yamato 2199" is a collection of world-class animation techniques, and I was drawn in from the very first scene. I thought the unique new characters of Gamilas and Gatlantis were wonderful and I became emotionally involved with each and every one of them. I hope you will visit the theater again and again to experience the grand scale and thrill of the film.

Eriko Nakamura
My name is Nakamura, and I play Kiryu. I am happy to be able to continue playing the role from the TV series and to be here to greet the audience on the opening day of the film. Since the release of the movie, I have been a member of YRA Radio Yamato, and I have learned a lot from the radio show. I also feel that you all helped me a lot during the recording sessions. When I was asked to play another role, I wanted to challenge myself because both Kuwashima and Uchida had played two roles in the TV series. It was a great challenge for me as an actor. (Asked about his favorite character) Personally, I like Mr. Burger. It took 2 years and 8 months since "Space Battleship Yamato 2199" started, but I believe that the work Yamato itself has brought us to this point. It is also a pleasure to have been able to deliver one conclusion to you all, and I think we have demonstrated that it is not impossible for Yamato to show new developments. I hope you will continue to support "Space Battleship Yamato 2199" so that we can continue to bring you many adventures in the future.

Aya Uchida
This is the first time for me to give a stage greeting for "Space Battleship Yamato 2199. I am very happy to be here today. I have been in charge of YRA Radio Yamato since the very beginning, and we have been supporting the series together, but at first I thought that a young person like me would not be able to talk about Yamato. I received many messages from young people and original Yamato fans, and we studied the "Space Battleship Yamato" series together. (Asked about his favorite scene) I really like the smiling scene between Captain Okita and Ancient-kun, when they have a friendly conversation. I was so happy when the captain said, "I think I'll make a request to Misaki-kun's radio," and I was very moved by that scene. I was personally very much looking forward to this completely new theater version, and I thought it was wonderful that love was portrayed throughout the series. As the theme of the film is to pass on to the younger generation, I hope that the original "Space Battleship Yamato" will be passed on to "Space Battleship Yamato 2199" and then to the next generation, making it an even greater work of art. I would be happy if everyone could love Yamato together.
