SOHO/Home NAS with dual-core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 from QNAP! TS-x31" series with 1/2/4 bays now available

QNAP has released three new SOHO/home-use NAS models: the 1-bay model TS-131, the 2-bay model TS-231, and the 4-bay model TS-431.


The TS-x31 series is positioned as a relatively entry-level model in QNAP's tower NAS series, and is equipped with a Freescale ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core 1.2GHz CPU and 512MB of DDR3 memory.

According to the transfer rate measured by the company, the nominal transfer rate is 111.3MB/sec ( TS-131 ) for single drive, 108.9MB/sec ( TS-231 ) for read/write in RAID 1 configuration, and 111.3MB/sec read and 89.8MB/sec write ( TS-431 ) in RAID 5 configuration. The nominal transfer rate is 110MB/sec read and 80MB/sec write in RAID 5 configuration (TS-231). Please refer to the respective links for measurement environment.

Supported storage devices are 3.5-inch/2.5-inch HDD or SSD (SATA 6Gbps interface).

Other features include 3 USB 3.0 (1 front + 2 rear), 1 eSATA, and 1 Gigabit LAN (dual configuration for 2 bays or more). Cooling fan sizes are 5 cm for 1 bay, 7 cm for 2 bays, and 12 cm for 4 bays.
