The poster visual and special trailer for the anime film "Knights of Sidonia the Movie," which will be released on March 6, 2015, have been released.

Knights of Sidonia" is an anime film based on the science fiction manga by Tsutomu Nibei, known worldwide for "BLAME!", "BIOMEGA" and "NOiSE". It depicts a battle between the survivors of human beings traveling through space and Gauna, an interactive alien creature that destroys the solar system. Animation production was handled by Polygon Pictures. The film version will be a reconstruction of all 12 episodes of the TV series, with new cuts and sound effects added. The second TV anime season, "Knights of Sidonia: The Battle of the Ninth Planet," is scheduled to begin in April 2015.

A poster visual and special trailer for the film version have been unveiled. With the catch copy "The last hope, we will not let go," the poster depicts the main character, Nagamichi Tanikaze, and the heroine, Kankan Hoshihira. The film will be shown in theaters for two weeks only, starting March 6.

It has been a thousand years since the solar system was destroyed by Gauna, an alien creature that cannot be interacted with. Some of the escaped humans have been traveling through space, reproducing on the giant spaceship Cydonia. Tanikaze Nagate, a boy who has lived quietly underground since birth, becomes a trainee for a large weapon called the Morito, and becomes the pilot of the historically famous Tsugumori. Hoshijiro Shizuka (*Rubi) is the first girl Nagamichi becomes aware of the opposite sex. Izana Shinatose, the first person, neither male nor female, who becomes his friend. Kunato Norio, who is jealous of Nagamichi's abilities. Hiyama Lalaa, the bear-shaped matron who runs the dormitory.
