TV anime "Psycho-Pass 2" finally reaches its final episode! Official comments from Kana Hanazawa (playing Akira Tsunemori) have arrived!

The TV anime "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass 2," currently airing on Fuji Television's "Noitamina" slot, will finally reach its final episode tomorrow, December 18 (Thursday). Since the airing of the first season, this work has been attracting a lot of attention for its hard-hitting plot, and expectations are high even before the airing, as the mystery of the "Sibura System," which forms the core of the world of this work, is finally revealed.

Before the airing of the 11th and final episode of "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass 2," we received an official comment from Kana Hanazawa, who plays the main character Akemi Tsunemori, about her impressions after the recording of the TV series, the character Akemi Tsunemori that she has played throughout the series, and the upcoming episode. She also spoke about her thoughts on "PSYCHO-PASS the Movie," which will be released in theaters on January 9, 2015 (Friday).

-How do you feel now that you have finished recording all 11 episodes?

I feel relieved (laugh). Compared to the first season, Chu-chan has a lot more to carry in "2," and I had to think about her a lot, so I felt tense during the entire recording. So I was relieved when the recording was over. But now that it is over, I am still sad.

-What did you have in mind when you were recording the second season?

In the second season, Mr. Cunningham is not here, and Zhu-chan is in a position to lead everyone. I thought it would be the best if I could do it like that on the set. I was thinking that it would be the best if I could do it like that on the spot.

-Akemi has shown a lot of growth from the first season to the second season. Is there anything you kept in mind when playing her?

I kept in mind what I had done in the first season, and I tried to keep those important aspects of her, such as her "clean heart" and her "concern for others before herself" attitude. Also, in the second season, incidents happened one after another, so I had to think about how to face them head-on as I played the role.

-In the second season, the events that befell Zhu became much bigger and heavier, didn't they?

Yes, it did. I had already known from the first season that Zhu was a grandmother's daughter. Director Shiotani had hinted that a family member might appear someday. Finally, there was someone I could rest easy with and be myself with, and I thought...! And then....

-...... to muddy Zhu's PSYCHO-PASS.

Yes, I agree. And the incident in episode 4 when Mr. Aoyagi died.... Zhu also shouted "What are you doing!" I felt like I was being trampled by Zhu's thoughts and feelings in the first episode when he was trying to arrest the bomber without killing him. It was painful at the time.

-But despite all that, Zhu has grown up.

Yes, he has. There were times when he had his hands full, but he became very strong.

-Finally, the final episode. Do you have a message for the viewers?

Au-chan has been carrying a heavy burden so far, but in the final episode, she will have to carry a huge burden again, so I hope that you will watch and see "2" through to the end.

-The movie version of "2" will be released on January 9 (Fri.) next year.

I think you will enjoy the movie version even more if you think about it carefully after watching the last episode of "2" and then watch the movie version. Also, when I read the scenario of the movie version, I thought, "This is what I wanted to see! I hope you will watch it.

The "PSYCHO-PASS: Psycho-Pass" series is an animated work that depicts the drama of police being questioned about justice in the near future, where people's mentality is quantified. It is a new police drama by Katsuyuki Motohiro (general director), creator of the "Odoru Daisousasen" series, and a dystopian science fiction work written with precision and boldness by Gen Urobuchi (Nitroplus), creator of "Kamen Rider Armor Warrior" and "Paradise Expelled".
The series' second season is composed by Ubukata Tow of "Ghost in the Shell: ARISE" and "Mardock Scramble," who has further sublimated the profound worldview created by Ubuchi Gen in the first TV season into a sci-fi crime suspense series. In addition, popular manga artist Akira Amano, who has been the character designer throughout the series, has created characters full of humanity and rich individuality. Naoyoshi Shiotani, who has directed the entire "PSYCHO-PASS: Psycho-Pass" series, brought together these sharply creative intersections to create dramatic visuals and direction. The "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass" TV series consists of the first season, a newly edited version, and the second season. A new story will follow the second TV season in the form of an animated feature film.
What will happen to the story of justice?

Story
The world reaches out for a forbidden peace (system).
The year is 2116, and it has been four years since Akira Tsunemori was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division of the Public Security Bureau of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The Japanese government finally begins exporting the Sibura system and drones to the world. Chairman Han of the SEAUn (Southeast Asian Union/SEAUn), which was under a prolonged civil war, adopted the Sibular System for his capital, Shambala Float. Despite its location in the heart of a bullet-riddled war zone, the floating city of Shambala Float succeeds in achieving a brief moment of peace. The experiment with the sibular system was going well - or so it seemed.
Then, armed smugglers invade Japan. They know all about Japan's security system, and are planning to commit acts of terrorism, bypassing the Sibura System's surveillance. In response to this unprecedented case of smuggling since the implementation of the Sibura System, the watchdog, Akira Tsunemori, led the Public Security Bureau's Criminal Investigation Department Section 1 in a mission to confront the smugglers. He confronts the smugglers. Soon, a person who appears to be helping the terrorists enter the country emerges.
That person is a man who used to be a law enforcement officer in the Public Security Bureau's Criminal Investigation Department Section 1. He is also a former colleague of Akemi Tsunemori.
Akemi goes alone to Shambala Float to investigate. To find out the true intentions of the man he believed in. To determine the justice he believes in.
