TV anime "Overlord" announces new characters/cast! Mini-Anime "Purepurepurea-desu" is now also available for viewing!

New character visuals and additional cast members have been revealed for the TV anime "Overlord," which is currently airing.



Overlord" is a fantasy novel by Kugane Maruyama that has sold over 400,000 copies. The story is set in the online game "Yggdrasil," which caused a huge boom but is no longer in service. The story is a dark fantasy that depicts a lone boy who becomes the strongest wizard and leads his guild to confront NPCs who suddenly have a will of their own and an unfamiliar alien world outside the guild. Directed by Naoyasu Ito, series composition and script by Yukie Sugawara, character design and chief animation director Takahiro Yoshimatsu, and animation production by Madhouse.

New character visuals and additional cast members have been released. Nervous Gamma (CV: Aimi Numakura), Gazef Stronoff (CV: Hirotsugu Shirakuma), Nigun Grid Lewin (CV: Takehito Koyasu), Enri Emot (CV: M.A.O), Nfelea Balearre (CV: Ayumi Murase), Liijy Balearre (CV: Ikuko Tani), Brita (CV: Yuki no Satsuki), Clemantine (CV: Aoi Yuuki), Kagit (CV: Minoru Inaba), Peter Mork (CV: Kazuyuki Okitsu), Lucrette Bolb (CV: Natsuki Hanae), Ninja (CV: Mutsushin Tamura), and Dine Wood Wonder (CV: Ryota Takeuchi). A visual of the main character, Momonga, dressed as an adventurer to gather information and procure funds in another world is also shown. Dressed in a jet-black full plate, his main means of attack is melee combat with two huge bastard swords (since he can hardly use magic).


The "Purepurepurea-desu" mini-anime, in which the chibi characters move around in all directions, will also be shown; it will be broadcast on AT-X after the main story ends, and each episode will be available on the official website for a limited two weeks. In addition, a one-time distribution will be available on GYAO! The first series (episodes 1 to 5) will be distributed from 0:30 August 14 to 23:59 August 17, the second series (episodes 5 to 9) from 0:30 September 11 to 23:59 September 14, and the third series (episodes 1 to 13) from 0:30 October 9 to 23:59 October 11.
