Animate surveys anime-loving girls on Valentine's Day!　To boyfriends = 13%, to characters = 27%, to voice actors = 17%.

Animate has announced the results of a survey of anime-loving girls on Valentine's Day.

This is a survey project in connection with the Valentine's Day Fair being held at animate and ACOS stores nationwide, conducted from February 5 to 9, 2016, to investigate the trends of anime-loving girls toward Valentine's Day.

The results of the survey revealed that nearly half (44%) are preparing chocolates for their favorite characters and voice actors. While 13% of the respondents prepare chocolates for their boyfriends, 27% prepare chocolates for characters, and 17% prepare chocolates for voice actors. Furthermore, 70% have given chocolate to 2D characters in the past.

Meanwhile, "under 1,000 yen" was the No. 1 budget choice for chocolate, with approximately 70% of respondents spending less than 1,000 yen. It seems that many of the respondents have a passion for their favorite character, but are prepared on a budget that is not too burdensome. However, there are a few (6%) who are as fierce as anime-loving boys and spend "more than 10,000 yen.
