Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju" is an anime work based on the manga of the same title serialized in "ITAN" by Haruko Kumoda. Set in the Showa era (1926-1989) rakugo world, the story depicts the true faces and deeds of rakugo storytellers. Directed by Mamoru Hatakeyama, series composition by Jun Kumagai, character design by Mieko Hosoi, rakugo supervision by Shinpei Hayashiya, and animation production by Studio Deen.
