Animated film "Poppin' Q" moves up its release date to December! Nationwide Roadshow as a New Year's Film in Response to Growing Expectations

The release date of the animated film "Poppin Q" has been moved up from January 2017 to December 2016.



Poppin Q" is an original theatrical animation film produced to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Toei Animation. The film depicts five girls who are lost in a mysterious world and who communicate with each other through dance in order to save the world from a crisis. The director is Naoki Miyahara, who has created many dance videos for the "Pretty Cure" series, and the character design is by Kohaku Kuroboshi of the TV animation "World Conquest: Zwizder the Plot.

The film was previously reported to be released in January 2017, but with this announcement, the release date has been moved up to December 23 (Friday, national holiday). In addition, as the first New Year's movie and the main film of the winter vacation season, it will be shown nationwide on an expanded scale. Toei, the distributor of the film, stated that the reason for the unprecedented advance and expansion of the box office was because "the response from theaters nationwide was much greater than expected".

In addition, a special video that was the talk of the town at this summer's Comic Market 90 is now available on the official Youtube channel, providing a deeper understanding of the backgrounds of the five girls and the film's worldview.
