Long interview with Eri Kitamura on the occasion of the release of her mini-album "Revolution [re:i]"! Part 2

Eri Kitamura, aka "Kitaeri," a popular voice actress, moved to TMS Music and today, March 22, 2017, released her first release, a mini album "Revolution [re:i]. You can feel the Kitaeri of the past, but you can also feel the new Kitaeri. She wrote the lyrics for three of the five songs on the album, and it can be said that this album is the embodiment of what she wants to express. The album was produced with live performances in mind, and a premium live concert will be held on April 2, so it will not be long before you will be able to experience it with your eyes, ears, and body.

Following the first part, in which he talked about his thoughts until the resumption of his musical activities and his collaboration with HAKUEI (PENICILLIN), in the second part, he talked about the other songs in the album and his outlook on his future musical activities.

Both male and female fans want to get excited together with "Balayuri xxxx

───We would like to continue to talk about the second and subsequent songs. There are many intense songs in this album, but one thing they all have in common is that they all have catchy melodies.

Eri Kitamura (Eri Kitamura): When we gathered songs for each theme in a competition, some were band sounds, some were loud, and others were various, but we wanted the songs to be catchy in the sense that they would be addictive to listen to. I like the melody before the chorus, so I wanted to see how far I could raise myself up and say, "Here comes the chorus! I chose the songs together with the staff, placing emphasis on how far I could lift myself up and say, "Here comes the chorus!

─ The second song is titled "Barayuri xxxx.

Kitamura: "xxxx" does not read "xxxx. When we were collecting demos for this song, we had received it in the same competition as "fortiTUDE," and it was a track that might not have been selected. But I really wanted to make the most of this song, and I wanted to make it one of my favorite songs at Kitaeri Live, so I strongly requested to be allowed to write the lyrics.

─ The lyrics are about the fans, aren't they?

Kitamura: Kitamura fans are called Kitaerists, and we officially refer to the men as the "rose group" and the women as the "lily group," but I want to create a "Kitaeri nation" where I exist because of the rose and the lily. So this "xxxx" has the word Kitaeri in it, but in the song, I sing "bara-yuri Kiritori. But I want to say that Kiritori is Kitaeri. But it would be tacky to write that (laughs). I also wanted to make a song that could be played in the local area. For example, "Takoyaki die-ski" or "Kitaeri die-ski" in Kansai. It would be nice to play it as an encore. What should we sing? I thought, "Let's do 'Barayuri xxxxxx'. And then they would say, "What do you say about that part? And then, "What do you say to that part? It would be nice if we could exchange something like that! I sent the producer a long, uncoherent message, and he replied, "I think it's a good idea, it sounds fun. I've been very spoiled. ...... (laughs).

─ ─ It certainly looks like it will be a lot of fun.

Kitamura That's how much I fell in love with the demo. There was one more reason. The notes were so packed in the A melody that I thought, "When am I going to breathe? I thought it would be cool if I could do some technical vocal work on this song. As a voice actor, I also sing such songs, so I thought I could show that I could do this too. I am planning to make it my favorite song for live performances, with the hope that Eri Kitamura's songs will incorporate what she has learned from her work as a voice actor.

─ I can imagine that scene, can't I?

Kitamura: We also came up with the choreography for this song for live performances. It's a song that says, "Let's make the bangers happy, too! That's what this song is all about. I want you to learn all the parts of this song.
