New PV for the second series of the fall anime "March Lion" released!　The OP theme is by YUKI and the ED theme is by Brian the Sun!

A new PV for the second series of the fall anime "March Lion," which will air on NHK Sogo TV from October 14, 2017, has been released, and the opening theme is "Flag up" by YUKI and the ending theme is "Kafune" by Brian the Sun.

March Lion" is a TV anime based on Chika Umino's manga serialized in "Young Animal" (Hakusensha), and the first season of the TV anime, which aired from October 2016 to March 2017, depicted a lonely high school professional Go player, Rei Kiriyama, who lives in downtown Tokyo, and his interaction with the people around him. The TV anime staff includes director Akiyuki Shinbo, character design by Nobuhiro Sugiyama, and animation production by Shaft. It was announced that the second series will be broadcast from October 2017.

The new PV of the second series and information on the opening and ending themes were released at the "TV anime "March Lion" Special Event - Kawamoto Family's Autumn Festival" held on September 3 (Sun) at Sayama Civic Hall in Saitama.

The opening theme for the second series will be performed by YUKI, as in the first series. The opening theme song, "Flag, Stand Up," is a cheering song that pushes Zero, Hinata, and other people in the second series to stand up for each other.

The ending theme is "Kafune" by Brian the Sun, a song that Chika Umino, the author of the original story, fell in love with upon first hearing it. The song carefully depicts the human love inside the characters, and was chosen with the world view of the work in mind.

Bullying" is an experience that doesn't happen to everyone, but it can be caused by actions that are taken with the best of intentions. Like Hina-chan in the play, I remember that before I knew it, I had lost my place in the classroom and was trying to keep a low profile.
I decided to become the king of my world. I listened to records, copied their jackets, and made a refuge in the world of song. I made dead flowers bloom, flew through the air, lived in a house of sweet confections, and marked each time I found my own place in a song with a little flag, the only way I could save myself. I didn't live well. Even now, I'm still trying to make one flag out of another. The song is also a song of support for Zero and Hina-chan in the second series.

Brian the Sun
I believe that Zero understands the pain and loneliness of fighting alone against something invisible to the eye. I felt throughout the work that it is the insecurity and fear within oneself, and more importantly, the budding of love that lies deep within. I love the worldview of this work, which carefully depicts the human love inside the characters without dismissing their immaturity or mistakes as evil. That is why we wrote the music with a delicate feeling so that we could be a part of the exquisite balance of the story. We are honored to be involved in "March Lion!
