Tensai Bakabon" will become a late-night anime and air in July 2018! Shinta Furuta as Papa and Miyu Irino as Bakabon!

Tensai Bakabon" based on Fujio Akatsuka's original story "Late Night! Tensai Bakabon," based on Fujio Akatsuka's original story, will be broadcast from July 2018. In addition, a teaser visual, information on the main cast, and tribute illustrations by popular manga artists have been released.

Tensai Bakabon" is a home comedy centering on the Bakabon family, one of Fujio Akatsuka's most famous works, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Fujio Akatsuka's death, and the fifth TV anime adaptation has been decided after 18 years since the last one! The series will be adapted as "Late Night! Tensai Bakabon" and will be broadcast from July 2018.

The film will be directed and written by the writer/director of the film "Paikaji Nankai Sakusen" (2012) and the writer/director of the film "Oke-Meijin! (2016) and the series composition of the TV anime "Shirokuma Cafe". The deputy director is Tenshi Yamamoto, who has storyboarded and directed "Frame Arms Girl" and "Tsurezure Children. Production will be handled by studio Piero+.

Midnight! Tensai Bakabon" TV anime broadcast, a teaser visual and main cast information have been released!　The role of Papa will be played by actor Arata Furuta in his first starring role in an anime production. The father's son, the laid-back Bakabon, is played by Miyu Irino, the beautiful mother is played by Noriko Hidaka, and Bakabon's younger brother, the baby genius Hajime, is played by Ai Nonaka. Akira Ishida will play Lelele's uncle, Tomoyuki Morikawa will play the role of the town's policeman, Honkun, who shoots his pistol excessively, and Takahiro Sakurai will play Unagiinu. Comments from director Toru Hosokawa and actor Arata Furuta, who plays Papa, have also been received.

This "Midnight! Tensai Bakabon" is the fifth anime adaptation of "Tensai Bakabon," and since it is a late-night show, I wanted to make a free and radical Bakabon that is close to the original work, which I have not been able to do in the previous anime. We asked Mr. Arata Furuta to play the role of the father, who has a cute and charming personality while saying poisonous things. I think the script and the artwork are somewhat playful, so I hope Furuta-san will also be free to go wild.
