Suzuko Mimori & Ayane Sakura "get "heart-strings" during the meal scene! Grisaia: Phantom Trigger THE ANIMATION Stargazer" advance screening report!

Grisaia Phantom Trigger" is the latest in the "Grisaia" series, a sequel to the novel games "Grisaia no Kajitsu", "Grisaia no Maze", and "Grisaia no Rakuen" produced by Front Wing. The anime work is "Grisaia: Phantom Trigger THE ANIMATION".

In March 2019, Vol. 01 "SORD" and Vol. 02 "Soul Speed," which correspond to the first two volumes of the original game, will be released as an animated feature film (OVA). From November 27, 2020, "Grisaia: Phantom Trigger THE ANIMATION Stargazer," based on the third volume of the game, will be shown in theaters. A portion of the funds for the production of this work, following Vol.01 and Vol.02, was raised through crowdfunding, and it was completed with the enthusiastic support and assistance of general fans.

Toka, a sniper from Mihama Academy, a special skills training school, heads to a remote island in the Philippines for a joint overseas training camp with St. Yale School for Foreigners, together with members of SORD, a private contracted operative agent training organization. However, they get caught up in the "trouble" of a top-secret operation aimed at destroying an arms smuggling ring, and end up participating in a mission to track down Gumi, a deserter from St. Yale. Toka encounters memories of his parents and an unfulfilled promise to his old friend Shiho, and he begins to think about Gumi's circumstances. What is the answer that Toka comes up with in the midst of all these intersecting thoughts?

Prior to the general screening of the film, which depicts the encounter between Toka and Gumi, a special screening was held on November 7, 2020, at four venues: EJ Anime Theater Shinjuku in Tokyo, Grand Cinema Sunshine, Midland Square Cinema in Nagoya, and Umeda Burg 7 in Osaka.

Many fans came to see the newly completed movie! Many fans came to see the newly completed film. The high quality images and the burning and crying drama held the audience's breath from start to finish.

Personally, I was impressed not only by the military-style battle scenes, but also by the interactions between the characters, which were depicted with "eating" as the key word. Why is it that the scene in which the characters are eating their meals while crying makes me cry so much?

After the screening, special messages from Ayane Sakura (Toka), Suzuko Mimori (Gumi), and Mikako Izawa (Akio Arisaka) were shown.

First, Mimori, who plays Gumi in the anime version for the first time, said, "I am so happy to see the scenes I played in the game, to see Gumi moving, and to be able to perform with everyone. The moving Gumi was even cuter than I imagined.

Ms. Sakura, who plays Toka, a character who becomes deeply involved with Gumi, said with deep emotion, "I think this was a very important episode for Toka, who is moved by the relationship between Gumi and Shiho and takes a new step forward.

The important scene in the film that they talk about is the "meal scene. Ms. Sakura recalls that the scene where Toka and Gumi eat rice "touched my heart," and Ms. Mimori says, "The scene where Gumi eats beef bowl made me cry. Why does just eating rice make you cry? Watch the film to find out.

The recording of this film was done in the midst of a new type of coronavirus epidemic, and the voice actors were recorded one or two at a time.

The first voice actor to record was Ms. Sakura, and she did the recording alone. While Ms. Sakura was a bit disappointed, saying that she wished she could have worked with the other cast members, Ms. Mimori said that she worked with Atsumi Tanezaki, who played the role of Murasaki. In one scene, Toka and Murasaki are engaged in a two-person cell operation, and the two actresses' acting is well matched.

Ms. Izawa was also recording the scene with Ms. Mare Uchida. During the postrecording, they used the video with Ms. Sakura's voice that had been recorded earlier, and she expressed her delight that she had a "luxurious time listening to Ms. Sakura's voice with one ear and Ms. Uchida's voice with the other ear.

As other points of appreciation unique to this film, Izawa said, "The sound is unique to the theater," and Sakura said, "The lines are very detailed, and the colors are beautiful. Ms. Mimori said, "The girls are cute, but they have a very manly look, so you may want to see it in a sporty way.

They all emphasized that this is a work that can be enjoyed by both men and women alike, saying, "I want girls to watch it, too.

A video showing the beginning of the main anime and a video showing the history of the "Grisaia: Phantom Trigger" series, "Grisaia: Phantom Trigger in 90 Seconds," Thanatos version, are currently available on Front Wing's official Youtube channel.
