A gorgeous song to color the finale of "Pri☆Chan" 3rd Cool is completed! Interview with Run Girls, Run! 7th single "Luminance Princess

Run Girls, Run!", a voice actress unit consisting of Koko Hayashi, Yuka Morishima, and Nanami Atsugi, released their first single in about a year, "Luminance Princess"! The song is scheduled to air in December as the new OP theme for the popular TV anime "Kiratto Pri☆Chan".

The long-awaited new song is a sparkling song with a lot of strings, while maintaining the world view of the previous "Pretty☆Chan" songs.

In this interview, we asked them to talk about the production episode of the new song, what they thought about the Corona disaster, and what they are going to do in the future. We asked them to talk about the production episode of the new song, what they thought about the Corona disaster, and what they are planning for the future.

Luminance Princess" has a mature and gorgeous feel.

--It's been a year since we last interviewed you in real life (the previous interview was conducted remotely). The world has changed drastically during this time. How did you spend your "home time"?

Hayashi: I was just in shock that I could no longer do live performances. I was also absent from high school for almost two months, but I watched a lot of films, thinking "I don't want to waste time" and "I want to do something that I can make use of in the future. While watching the videos, I would think, "This person expresses himself in this way, how would I act? I was also searching for ways to express myself in this kind of situation.

Also, I usually read books electronically, but I wanted to touch paper books, so I brought novels and manga from my parents' house and read them.

Morishima For me, the period of self-restraint was an opportunity to look at myself anew, and the online live "Run Girls, Run! I was able to improve my performance so much that I can look back and say, "I grew up!

During the period of self-restraint, I was able to concentrate on building a foundation, and during the online live, I learned how to move when being caught on camera.

Atsugi: I watched my old favorite movies again and read my favorite picture books sent from my parents' house. As for games, I played "Atsumare Animal Crossing," or I would watch videos of people who were good at playing games and "air-play" as if I were playing the game myself (laughs).

As for dancing, I had originally studied classical ballet and was conscious of soft movements, but since I started working as Ranga, I had come to prefer dancing to "bang, bang" to the sound. So, during the period of self-restraint, I studied movements that would make my body lines look more beautiful. Also, I often sing with a back voice, so I did a lot of training that I can do at home, such as practicing my low voice for singing with my real voice.

Hayashi: During the period of self-restraint, I received warm comments during the live delivery to commemorate my birthday, and I also held an online autograph session as a ranga, and I realized that even though we could not meet the runners (meaning fans) in person, they were still remembering us and supporting us. So, I felt strongly that "now we must return the favor to them! We felt that we had to return the favor to them.

--Hayashi: In the midst of all this, you decided to release a new song, "Luminance Princess".

Hayashi: I felt the song had a mature and gorgeous feel that I had not seen in previous "Pri☆Chan" songs. The theme of the song is "Moon and Sun," and this song has a lot of "lunar elements" in it.

Alice (Peperoncino) is the "sun" and Eve is the "moon," and I had the image of us pushing them both along.

In the past, I thought the lyrics of the theme song were inspired by "Miracle☆Kirats" (a unit in the play consisting of Mirai Momoyama, Emo Moe and Rinka Aoba) and "Meltic StAr" (a unit in the play consisting of Ana Akagi, Sara Midorikawa and Meru Shidou), but this time it seems like you are trying to pull the two of them together It seemed to me.

Morishima I felt that the lyrics were similar to the opening theme of the third part, "Illuminage Land". It conveyed a grand worldview, and we felt a clear desire to express that worldview ourselves.

Atsugi: This song will be the last song of the third "Pri☆Chan" season, and it has a dynamic feel befitting of the season. The production team for this song was the same people who wrote the music for "Meltic StAr", so I could feel the mature atmosphere of the song.

--from the intro, the piano and drums make a great statement. Personally, I felt the "Queen" flavor that Hayashi-san loves.

Hayashi: Indeed! Illuminage Land" had a gorgeous band sound, but this time the strings were also effective, and it sounded like the later QUEEN! Yes, ....... In your image, was it around the time you were working on "Made in Heaven" (album released in 1995, the biggest hit as an original album of QUEEN)?

Morishima & Atsugi Don't leave us~! (laughs)

(laughs) -- What were you conscious of when you sang?

Hayashi: As I mentioned earlier, I had the image of "sending off", so I was conscious of singing gently. The song brightens up at the end of the first chorus with "Tokimeki Codes Wonderland! at the end of the first chorus, which is brightened up at once, so I felt like I wanted to "enliven the song with my voice.

The word "tokimeki" also has elements of Mirai, the character I play, and I sang the song while hoping to bring out the sparkle that is uniquely hers.

Morishima: As the last part of the lyrics says "Let's go anywhere," I sang the song thinking that it would be a song that would pull everyone along. I haven't been able to sing it live yet, but I think I will be able to put more of my feelings into the song if the audience is in front of me, so I am looking forward to performing it now.

Also, I hope that the world will soon be a place where people can call and respond to each other's calls and responses, because it is something that even little friends who watch "Pri☆Chan" can easily enjoy!

Atsugi: The title "Luminance Princess" is in the chorus, so I recorded the song with that in mind.

I am in charge of the second chorus, and my character Rinka-chan's goal is to "give courage to others," so I sang the song with a strong sense of what it means to be her.

It's been a while since we shot a music video, but we were in high spirits!

--I heard that the music video was shot in a sunny amusement park.

Atsugi: It took us one day to shoot it in the middle of October, especially the night scene where we sing in front of the merry-go-round, it was very cold. ......

Morishima They are laughing and singing softly, but inside they are saying, "It's so cold! Hurry up and give me the OK take! I was shivering as I sang (chuckles).

Atsugi: We gathered in Tokyo at 6:00 a.m. for the location shooting and took a bus to the site. The day before, we had a late night recording session, so I slept all the way in the car (laughs).

Morishima It had been a long time since I had been away from home, so I was always in high spirits in the car (laughs).

Hayashi: Mocchi (Morishima-san) and I were seated next to each other, so we took pictures together when we got off at the parking area. ...... (laughs). We had fun along the way.

--Please tell us about the episode when you were filming.

Hayashi: When I saw the script, I thought, "Hey, is it just a ride? That sounds fun! I thought, "That sounds like fun! By the way, I can tell you a behind-the-scenes story now, but there was a scene where I was holding a churro and I thought, "Am I being looked at like a gourmand? But later, when I watched the making of the film, Mocchi suggested, "Why don't you hold the churros during the next shooting? I was thinking, "How about holding a churro on the next shoot? So I feel grateful to him for coming up with the idea.

Morishima Oh! May I have a word? Actually, at first we were going to shoot the scene where I eat the churros. I wanted to eat the churros, but, well, I guess it's okay if you feel that kind of gratitude. ......

Hayashi Thanks to you, there were more scenes for me (laughs), and I have nothing but gratitude for Mocchi!

Morishima Wait a minute (laughs)! But you gave me a bite, so I'll forgive you. The cut where Hayamaru (Hayashi-san) eats the churros for a moment actually hid this drama (laughs).

Atsugi: My lip scene was shot while walking next to a river, and I was splashed all over by what looked like school trip kids at an amusement park who were enjoying themselves at a water attraction (laughs).

The video was done in such a way that you can't tell they were splashing around, but I hope you enjoy it because it's a "nice, watery Atsugi" (laughs).

--(laughs) - Could you introduce your costumes to Ms. Hayashi and Mr. Atsugi?

Morishima My costume this time is sleeveless, and it is actually my first sleeveless costume in Ranga. I am looking forward to getting hot with everyone in this costume!

Hayashi: I heard that the theme of this year's show is "theater. I've always liked shorts, so I tweeted somewhere that I wanted to wear shorts this time, and the costume designer made them very cute, so I hope you will pay attention to them. Also, all three of them have unique hair ornaments!

Atsugi: Up until now, the costumes for "Pri☆Chan" related songs have been characterized by each member's color, but this time, not only the color but also the shape of the costume is different for everyone, so I think I was able to show a new side of Ranga.

Personally, I would like to draw your attention to the chemical lace. I presented the idea of such a cute chemical lace in advance, and they adopted it!

I think it shines beautifully when illuminated by light, so please look forward to seeing it when it is performed live.

--The dance choreography is also impressive.

Hayashi: I asked ASAMI sensei, who I have asked since "Kakeru x Kakeru," to do the choreography this time, and he said, "I thought of princess-like movements. I think you can tell from each and every movement that he carefully checked the work.

--Please tell us about the coupling song "My Best Shine! Hayashi: Please tell us about the coupling, "My Best Shine!

Hayashi: I don't think there have been many songs that have lyrics that express the feelings of runners who are always cheering for us, so I think this is a song that everyone can get excited about together.

Morishima I hope this song will blend into your daily life. When I sing it live, I want to ride on a trolley and sing it while looking everyone in the eye as I approach the audience.

Atsugi: I have sung many "Pri☆Chan" songs in the past, but this is the first time I have heard a song that is so idol-like. It's a number that made me realize that we can express cuteness in such a way.

The lyrics, "But when I'm going through a tough time, everyone will support me..." I felt that this song will probably be performed in important scenes in the future.

What will happen at the culmination of the year, "Pripara & Kiratto Pri☆Chan Winter Live 2020"?

--I heard that "Luminance Princess" will be aired for the first time on the day of the "Pripara & Kiratto Pri☆Chan Winter Live 2020" to be held on December 6 (Sun.) at Makuhari Messe Event Hall in Chiba.

Hayashi: It was originally scheduled to air a little earlier, but due to scheduling reasons, it was delayed. But it may be a coincidence, but I feel it is fate that the song will be played for the first time at this timing.

I am also happy that we are going to have a performance with an audience for the first time in a while, and I am very grateful to the people who made the decision to hold the event.

The year-end live performance of "Idol Time Pripara" and "Pri☆Chan" is the culmination of the year, and I am happy to be able to deliver it again this year. I have to deliver that happiness to everyone, and as the leader of "Pri☆Chan," I will do my best to make everyone think that "PriPara" and "Pri☆Chan" series are the best! I will do my best to make you think that the "PriPara" and "Pri☆Chan" series are the best!

Morishima Since the summer "Pri☆Chan" event was held online, I think this time I will be able to explode with the feeling of "finally being able to meet everyone". I feel once again that this is a really important event.

Atsugi: "What about this year?" I was so thrilled to hear that the event would be held and that I would be able to perform in front of the audience! I hope to bring sparkles and dreams to as many people as possible.

I was so happy to be able to stand in Makuhari with the members of Wake Up, Girls! Of course, I am also happy to be on the same stage with i☆Ris again this year, and I hope that we will do our best as voice actors who are part of the history of the "Pretty" series.

In the past, we used to just watch your backs and follow you, but now we have grown to be able to deliver something to our fans, and I hope that our seniors and the audience will see how we have grown as well.

Hayashi: I cried just after singing one song in a ranga at the "Minna de Kirapuriti Live 2018" held in December 2018. At the time, I really caused trouble for a lot of people, and I lost confidence after that, but at that time, I was encouraged by Miyu Kubota, who is a member of Kirats with me. Last year, during the "Prepara & Kiratto Pri☆Chan AUTUMN LIVE TOUR," Mitsuki Saiga told me, "You are the chairperson, so you should have more confidence.

I love the family atmosphere of the "Pretty" series, and I think the fans do too. So, I want to warmly wrap everyone up in the family atmosphere this time as well, and I also want to show them that I am growing up together with Mirai at the concert.

--I would like to show you that I am growing up together with Mirai, and I would like to show you that I am also growing up together with Mirai.

Morishima: It is very special to be on stage in my hometown. Ever since I lived in Kyoto, I always had an image of the Rohm Theater as a "big venue," so I am deeply moved no matter how many times I perform there.

Hayashi: This is a great opportunity for Kansai anime fans to see "how these kids are working hard in Tokyo," so I want to go on stage with a lot of energy! I'm happy that we will be performing in the members' hometown, and I myself love Kyoto because of my brother's love of castles, temples, and shrines, so I'm really looking forward to it.

Morishima: If I'm not mistaken, Hayamaru knows Kyoto better than I do (laughs).

Hayashi: The Suzumushiji Temple in Kyoto is said to bring good luck in the performing arts. I once went to visit the temple and was actually accepted for an audition, so I have been going there often since then!

Atsugi: I am really grateful to be able to perform on stage with an audience for two weeks in a row. Kyo Premium Live 2020" has a great sound environment, and when I performed last year, I was able to check the sound in detail during rehearsals. I hope to give an even better performance this year.

I hope that as many people as possible will feel "Ranga is great!
