You can clear the game without using a gun! Ready or Not, a realistic tactical FPS game inspired by SWAT
When you think of police in the United States, the first thing that comes to mind is sheriffs and city police, but when a dangerous incident occurs, a special unit called "SWAT" is dispatched to the scene. SWAT is an abbreviation of "Special Weapons And Tactics," and was first organized by the Los Angeles Police Department in 1967, when the assassination of President Kennedy and various shootings were considered to have worsened security problems. It was first formed by the Los Angeles Police Department in 1967, when the assassination of President Kennedy and various shootings were considered to be worsening security problems. This time we will introduce "Ready or Not," a tactical FPS game in which you can become SWAT, one of the best special forces in the United States.
A "tactical horror" game in which the enemy AI pretends to be dead.
The game is currently in Early Access (in development), created by New Zealand-based VOID Interactive. The game takes place in the fictional American city of Los Suenos. It is a town where various serious incidents, from convenience store robberies to bombings, occur, and is a very unsafe place.
The game is designed for realism, so both the player and the AI of enemies and allies die in just a few shots. The behavior of the enemy AI is also detailed and realistic, and when it hears aggressive sounds such as gunshots or screams, it will hide under the bed or in the closet, attempt suicide in unfavorable situations, pretend to be dead and launch a surprise attack when no one is looking, or even run away and run to another building. They may even run and escape to another building.
They also try to kill themselves by shooting at the wall in the direction they hear a noise, or by hiding behind an obstacle and waiting at a corner to shoot when they are close to it. The game is also available in a variety of rooms and traps where enemies are hiding. Of course, the location of the rooms and traps in which the enemy hides changes from game to game, and you are often ambushed the moment you enter a room. The unpredictable tension and terror of the game has earned it the title of "tactical horror" in international reviews.
Unique Maps and Five Game Modes
This title supports solo play as well as cooperative play for up to four players, with a total of 12 maps to choose from (as of October 2022). There are a variety of maps, including a mansion, a hotel, and a dance club, just like the ones in the movie. The interiors and designs in the maps are elaborate and realistic in every detail.
Ready or Not has five different missions: Barricade Suspects, Raid, Active Shooter, Bomb Threat, and Hostage Rescue. Each mission also has detailed objectives, such as apprehending suspects, rescuing civilians, and seizing evidence, all of which must be completed to complete the game.
The overall rating is determined by points added (goals completed, evidence seized, etc.) and points deducted (caught in traps, killed fellow players, etc.).
Let's actually play the game!
Let's try playing the game. First, select the lobby from the TOP screen. There are three types of lobbies: single player, public lobby for multiplayer, and friends-only.
After selecting a lobby, you will be taken to the police station. Here you can choose your weapons and equipment, try out your weapons, and practice with a simple tutorial course.
The first thing I thought when I took control was, " I walk too slow! " I was surprised at how slow I was walking. In this game, normal movement seems to be running, perhaps in pursuit of realism, but it seems slower than the walking speed of a typical FPS game. Jumping is also possible, but it doesn't feel like flying at all. It does not seem possible to run away or jump to avoid bullets.
This time we will be wearing the M4A1 as our main weapon, the G19 handgun, a mirror gun that allows us to look through doors, a flash grenade to blind us, pepper spray to blind the enemy, and a helmet with night vision goggles.
This time we decided on a MAP of a house that looks simple enough. Apparently, this is a drug dealer's house, and our goals this time are to rescue the citizens who are being held hostage, subdue the armed enemies, and seize evidence of drugs.
If you head to the door and press the Z key, the AI on your side will use a lock pick to unlock the door. It is also very convenient to press the Z key toward the room you want to clear and it will do so, or press the Z key on an enemy who has surrendered and it will handcuff you.
The moment I entered the house, I immediately heard gunshots. There was a body in the room that appeared to be a dealer ....... I was surprised that the AI of my allies was so strong. It took down two of them in no time.
And if you look closely at the body, you will see that he is wearing a hoodie that says "I am not a drug dealer".
...... No, it's definitely a drug dealer, no matter what you think! (LOL)
Sure enough, we found drug evidence right next to them! We wrap it up carefully and send it to headquarters immediately. There is another piece of drug evidence on this map, so let's look for it too.
Next, go to the room on the right. As you approach the door, a mirror gun symbol will appear at your feet, so look through it to see inside the room.
Aaaaah! There was an enemy with a weapon!
If there are enemies in the room, use a C2 bomb to break down the door and use a flash grenade to get control of the room. This is so cool, it's like a movie no matter how many times you see it.
By the way, it is recommended to set any key to the item "OPEN SWAT COMMAND INTERFACE" in Settings->Control->Teamwork, so that you can give multiple instructions like the above at once.
When you come to the second floor, you will find suspicious money and a whiteboard. Is this sales? In today's dollar-yen conversion, even $200k is about 30 million yen. You are making a tremendous amount of money. ......
I would like to share some of it.
Now that we have control of the drug house, we will explore the backyard. It is very dark outside, so night vision goggles are very useful. This is a must for night maps!
We found the second drug evidence on the stairs of the building behind the drug house! The mission is now successfully completed. It was a long one!
I got an A for this one. I got an A for this one, which is good because I didn't get a single demerit.
If you master the instructions to the AI, you can clear the game without firing a gun!
I had heard rumors that it was difficult, but it took me more than 10 tries before I finally cleared it. One game takes about 20 minutes, so I got the impression that it took me 3-4 hours. Of course, I studied by watching play videos and strategy videos in addition to playing myself, so I think it actually took me longer than that.
In general FPS games, the allied AI is often killed quickly, perhaps to increase the difficulty level, and the level is "the same whether it is there or not," but the AI in this game was extremely strong. The AI in this game, however, was extremely strong. It would kill an enemy with one or two shots, so I often survived to the end, and in fact, I always died first. You can also leave the combat completely to the AI and concentrate on instructions, and if you are not very good at it, you can even clear the game without ever holding a gun. As a beginner, it might be easier to play with the AI than in multiplayer.
Of course, there are a wide variety of weapons and grenades, so it is recommended to play SWAT with your friends in a role-playing game. It is a different kind of fun than playing solo.
It has been announced that a PVP mode will be implemented in the full version of the game, which we are looking forward to seeing in the future. Why don't you give it a try?
