HG "1/144 Rising Freedom Gundam" Example Arrives! Introducing Gunpla techniques for those who want to rank up from beginner to intermediate!

The15thissue of "YU-GO'sCharacter ModelingLABO"is an example article on processingBandai Spirits' "HG 1/144Rising Freedom Gundam". We tried to make it even cooler and more stylish by using techniques for those who want to rank up from beginners to intermediate level.

Two months have already passed since the release of "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM.

I am sure that many of you have repeated it many times. This work has renewed the No. 1 box-office revenue of all previous "Gundam" series theatrical releases, and is still making rapid progress. Various discussions by fans are also underway.

In addition, after the release of the film, kit versions of the MS have been announced one after another, with many people saying, "I can't wait to have it! I want to build it! I want to build it!

This time, as a special project for the release of the movie version, we will continue with the review of the kit, and try to complete it with further modifications to make it even cooler.

Let's start with the Freedom!

Edge it up and make it look more stylish!

Let's start with the unassembled state that was produced in the previous review.

This time, we will start from here. We'll clean up the gate marks and file the surface. There are many parts, but let's proceed patiently.

As promised, the blade antenna is sharpened by filing etc.

Let's extend the chin part a little by using the runner tag. Adhesion is made by "Mr. Cement SP" of GSI Creos.

⇒The technique for extending the chin using runner tag is also introduced in this article!

After processing the face part, it will look like this. Even with just a pinpoint processing, the atmosphere will be improved considerably.

We also wanted to make the legs a little longer, so we extended them by 3mm using WAVE's "Plastic Plate [Gray]". This will improve the style significantly.

The wing part of the backpack is where I wanted to make it so sharp.

There are many pieces to process, but let's continue patiently.

Stick to painting and dress up!

The painting of the white stripes on the wings looks quite difficult, but this time we were able to use a sample of the pre-release "Mr. Color GGX (Double GX)" series, which was kindly provided by GSI Creos.

This "GGX White" has better hiding power and bite than conventional white, and the paint film is strong, so it is recommended for painting dark molded parts! We can't wait for the general release.

Here is the finished painting. The black parts are unpainted and remain in the molding color. Just masking here and spraying "GGX White" will create sharp lines. If it sticks out, you can scrape it off with a toothpick dipped in water.

Finish off with a coat of "Mr. Super Smooth Clear (matte)" over the entire surface.

The gray part of the body also uses a new color from GSI Creos. The color is very close to the image.

The "Infictus Beam Shield" looks good with the polarized molded parts as it is, but let's give it a twist. I sprayed "Gundam Marker EX Hikari no Tsubasa Hollow Blue" using "Gundam Marker Airbrush System".

The finished product is here. The texture is now even more grainy and interesting.

The blue of the body color is tuned to a brighter blue based on the "Rising Freedom Blue" toned for the "Rising Freedom Gundam" from GSI Creos. The white part had a slightly toned white impression, so we used "Mr. Color C69 Grand Prix White".

Completed! The accumulation of the cobbled-together hands, it became a finish close to the image.

Completed! It became a Rising Freedom just like the image in the play!

Upper body close-up. It is an image of the launch scene at the beginning of the play. The emblem of the compass is not attached to the kit, but if you really want to reproduce it, you can use the marking stickers attached to the Gundam Base Limited "Action Base 7 Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM Image Clear Color".

The twin eyes are painted with a blue pen after applying SHOW UP's "Base Color Cosmic Silver" by brush.

With the new mechanism "SEED Action System", the action in the play can be reproduced.

Here is the secret. The hip joints can be pulled out this far, allowing for quite daring poses. The movable range of the neck, shoulders and hips is also wider than previous kits.

The powerful "High Matte Full Burst" can also be reproduced.

Two beam sabers can be connected together to create the "Ambidextrous Halberd" form.

The hand part has been converted to "HGBC Dimension Build Knuckles [Horns]". It fits nicely.

It can also transform into MA form, using the variable technology that Orb has developed with the MURASAKE.

Of course, the deployment mode at the time of atmospheric entry can also be reproduced.

How was it?

Basically, we mainly built it by shaping the parts + α. However, by taking the time to finish it carefully, a beautiful work will be completed, so I think it will be fun to work on it carefully after watching the movie and developing your image. I am sure that various kits will be released in the future as well, so the fun of making these kits will continue to grow.

See you again in the next example!
