Authentic Sanuki Udon in Akihabara? Don't think, just eat udon. Udon with 3 kinds of tempura for 1,000 yen! Akiba 1,000 yen lunch

When you come to Akihabara, you may have a hard time deciding where to have lunch.

To help you decide, here are some Akiba eats that I, Shun Gori, who always wander around Akihabara even when I have no need to go out for lunch, recommend.

As Akibaites who like to spend money on their hobbies, we assume that the amount of money you can spend for lunch is within 1,000 yen, so this is the last time we have introduced menus that you can usually eat within 1,000 yen.

We hope you will continue to enjoy the Akihabara lunches we have introduced so far!

Akihabara has become a place where you can enjoy delicious foods from all over the world, such as ramen, curry, kebabs, Chinese food, and recently, Belgian frites, but come to think of it, I haven't eaten udon yet. ......

So this time, we visited "Don't Think, Eat Udon," a restaurant where you can eat authentic Sanuki Udon in Akihabara. I visited "Don't Think, Eat Udon", a restaurant where you can eat authentic Sanuki udon in Akihabara.

Don't think, eat udon. is located on Seibi-dori, about a five-minute walk from the Showa-dori exit of JR Akihabara Station, just across Showa-dori after exiting the station.

Don't think, eat udon. is a rented udon store that operates as "Okinawa Yushoku Chimu Dodon" at night. Therefore, the appearance of the restaurant is characterized by its Okinawan style.

Since it is a rented store, the signboard outside can be easily removed.

The signboard outside the store has been designed so that it can be easily removed. The sign is interesting in that it reads "Don't think, eat UDON," which is an English translation of the restaurant's name, "Don't think, eat UDON," perhaps with an awareness of inbound visitors.

The restaurant is quite spacious, with about 30 seats, including 10 tables and 3 seats at the counter. As mentioned above, the restaurant is a borrowed store from "Okinawa Yushoku Chimu Dodon," and the interior is decorated with posters and furnishings that evoke the image of Okinawa.

The restaurant is only open for lunch from 11:00 to 14:00. Therefore, there is no specific lunch menu, and the menu is simple: "Udon", "Udon of the Week", "Udon with Tempura", and "Tempura" as an individual item. Prices are also quite reasonable considering the Akihabara lunch market, and even if you eat a full meal, the price will not exceed 1,000 yen.

Ordering is done by QR system, which means that you order by reading the QR code placed on the table with your smart phone.

This time, I ordered the "Udon with 3 kinds of tempura," a special set that comes with 3 kinds of tempura for 200 yen if ordered separately, served cold!

The three kinds of tempura are chicken tempura, chikuwa tempura, and sweet potato tempura.

First, I took a slurp of the udon.

The noodles are very firm and thick, with a chewy and elastic texture that is very satisfying.

The broth is made from mackerel and sardine, and the noodles are not overpowered by the firmness of the broth.

The tempura is freshly fried and the batter is crispy. In addition, the tempura absorbs the soup well. You can enjoy the crispiness of the batter as it is, or you can soak it up and enjoy the juices.

The sweet potato tempura is made of thickly sliced sweet potato and deep fried to a crisp, giving it a sweet taste.

The chicken tempura is made of thick, juicy chicken meat that would otherwise be dry depending on how it is cooked.

The chicken flavor is soaked up in every bite.

The only seasoning used is shichimi (seven spices). It is very simple, but that is how confident they are in their flavor.

It is certainly satisfying to eat it as it is, and even if you want to change the flavor, the shichimi alone is enough to satisfy your taste buds.

So, this time we visited "Don't Think, Eat Udon," a place in Akihabara where you can enjoy authentic Sanuki udon. where you can enjoy authentic Sanuki udon in Akihabara.

The noodles were chewy, firm, and elastic, and the soup with bonito flakes was very tasty.

The tempura was freshly fried and the crispy batter soaked up all the broth, so I never got tired of eating it again and again.

I finished the six pieces of tempura in no time at all.

It is a pity that the restaurant is only open from 11:00 to 14:00, as it is a borrowed store, but I highly recommend that you go there when the timing is right. You will surely enjoy the charm of Akiba meshi, which is not only rich but also light and simple.
