Winter Anime "REVENGER" Gen UROBUCHI takes charge of the story draft of TV anime for the first time in about 10 years! New PV and comments from Maaya Sakamoto and others!

The third PV of the2023 winter anime"REVENGER" (REVENGER) and comments from the main staff have been released.

This work is an original TV animation by Shochiku, Asiado, and Nitroplus. The main character Raizo, who has lost his place to return to, is picked up by "REVENGER," a hitman who takes revenge on behalf of the main character, and they soon become involved in a big conspiracy.

The original story is by Gen Urobuchi! The third PV is now on view!

The TV anime "REVENGER" will start airing on January 5, 2023 (Thursday) on TOKYO MX, Kansai Television, BS Nichtele, and AT-X. It has been announced that Gen Urobuchi (Nitroplus) will serve as the original story writer and series writer of the TV anime for the first time in about 10 years.

Gen Urobuchi has created many masterpieces with his elaborate worldview and heart-wrenching human dramas, such as "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" and "PSYCHO-PASS: Psycho-Pass.

Directed by Masaya Fujimori, whose skilled direction captivates with his "Nintama Rantaro" series and "Kaibutsu Jiken," the animation production is handled by Ajido. The animation production will be handled by Ajido, and other staff members who have worked on popular productions are also on the list of directors.

The ED theme is "un_mute" by Maaya Sakamoto. Comments from the staff and Maaya Sakamoto have also arrived.

The scenario is so dense and interesting that it was a lot of fun to cut the storyboards. The origin of my own visual experience - the unpredictability of what might happen in period dramas and detective stories from the Showa era (1926-1989), when regulations were much more lax than today, or in New Cinema and Macaroni Westerns broadcast on TV - is updated to the present day and presented in the film. The goal of this project was to update and capture this unpredictability in the film.
The drawings, finishing, backgrounds, and cinematography are all solid (which is a real plus for a period drama), and the cool, restrained sound effects give the film a more mature look that I think is quite watchable.
Please enjoy the relentless tempo of the convenience sequences, the underlying sense of impermanence, and the kindness shown by the convenience workers.

This "REVENGER" was the first time in a long time that I was able to throw a straight, hard, fastball straight to the heart of the matter, without any tricks or tricks. I threw it with only one thought in my mind, "This should be interesting," without regard to the world or the market trend! Thanks to this, there was no twist in the title. However, I believe that this kind of work will surely strike a chord with those who are waiting for something truly interesting. I hope that it will reach the audience's mitts with a resounding thud!

The people in this story are all trying their best to live clumsily.
But living with karma on their shoulders may mean that they are stuck in the past for a long time. I asked Ms. Yuho Iwasato, a lyricist whom I respect the most, to write the lyrics for this song, with the image that I wanted it to be a song that would envelop and purify their hearts.
I think it became a gentle yet powerful song that moves the time that has stopped. I am very happy that they were able to create a very calm and gentle ending video to go along with this song.

<Story
Once upon a time, in Nagasaki, which has a different history from ours, .......
Raizo, betrayed by what he believed in, falls into a vile trap, and ends up with his father's hand on his forgiven wife.

Yuhan, an elegant maki-e artist, lives by a hidden faith.
Tetsuwa, a former pirate doctor, is adored by the townspeople.

Raizo is half-heartedly picked up and joins a group of assassins who are all different from each other in one way or another.
